This early 1800s castle is 10 minutes’ drive from Västervik. It offers fine dining, free spa access and a private beach. All rooms include free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV. Everything was superb. The best spa we have ever used. Dinner excellent. Room fabulous with amazing view. Comfy bed and quiet rooms. Staff on reception made us so welcome and attended to our every need. Compliments to Jamie in restaurant and Veronica at reception.

Situated within a 5-minute walk of Kalmar Castle and the city’s Central Station, this good-value hotel provides free WiFi. All rooms include a flat-screen TV. The hotel has its room distributed over several properties, with the main reception, common area, restaurants etc in the middle of it. The hotel even provided complimentary soup and salad for dinner. Breakfast was also very nice. Old town and the main bus station and train station are 10-15 minute by foot, the castle is basically next door. So pretty centrally located as well.

Housed in an old harbour warehouse, the Clarion Collection Hotel Packhuset boasts spectacular views of the Kalmar Sound and the Öland Bridge. We had a wonderful time at Clarion Collection Hotel Packhuset. The room was clean and large and the bed was very comfortable. We really liked the presence of a rich buffet for breakfast and dinner, as well as coffee with cake every afternoon. We also profited from the gym and the sauna, which are available for guests.
