Situated in Serra de São Mamede Natural Park, in historic Castelo de Vide, this typical and rustic Alentejo hotel offers elegant rooms with a flat-screen TV. Facilities include bicycle rental. Very central, within walking distance to cafes and restaurants. The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice. Beautiful view from a mountain room and no traffic noise. A very good standard of cleanliness in all areas.

Surrounded by the lush forests of the São Mamede Mountains in Portalegre, this former convent is decorated with several historic armours, weapons and antiques. Fabulous location and the hotel building itself is staggering - like a living museum. Owners/staff were very friendly and helpful. A really special place.

Situated in 2 small traditional whitewashed houses in Marvão, this charming pousada offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains from its restaurant. Location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Views from dining room were exceptional.
