Modern hotel with stunning views from every room, across the Douro River valley. Parking outside the door. Great meals and (mostly) very friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay by a day. It was fun having a pool table to while away a rainy day.

The luxurious Wine House Hotel in Lamego, in the heart of the Douro region, is surrounded by extensive private grounds with vineyards. Beautiful wine barrels to stay in, excellent service. Was simply better than expected and our expectations were high to begin with. The food, quality, cleanliness of the property were all perfect and the level of detail in the service was amazing. The breakfast in our wine barrel was the cherry on top of an excellent stay!
