Located in Bocas Town, a few steps from Y Griega Beach, Somewhere provides accommodations with a garden, free private parking and a terrace. We couldn't have imagine a better place to stay! Nice rooms, beautiful garden, beach right in front of the accommodation. Etienne was very kind and helpful! Also the cleaning workers were very friendly! At night/morning everything you hear is the sea and wildlife. We were happy to escape the crowded and loud centre, though it's very easy to get a taxi to the centre (just stand beside the road and take the next one coming for just one dollar). We would absolutely come back again!

Breakfast is great and also very nice you can borrow bikes, snorkeling gear or the kayaks to go to one of the floating bars nearby.

This place and it's people really deserve some praise! Hard to even start to explain what an incredible experience staying there was. Starting from the pick-up with a boat by Elke (hope this is how you write his name) and some bubbles along the way and the most helpful and detail oriented staff I have ever seen. Beautiful place, location, activities and ofcourse the food by the amazing chefs. Everything was so personalised. Special thanks to Franco at the beachbar for creating good cocktails and chill atmosphere with his guitar, Sebastian who knew exactly where to find dolphins on our sunset boat ride and the chefs for getting us the most delicious lobster we've ever eaten! Cannot recommend this place enough (although almost feeling like I'd like to keep this place a secret because it's too special 😂).

It is a tatty little town with poor sanitation so smelly near the water. If you are an under thirty back packer and your needs are sunshine, edible food, and endless drinks until late into the night you will probably like it. More mature visitors who have developed a taste for better will hate it. Travelling extensively throughout Panama this past 2 months we notice that there were an equal number of affluent Panamanians as tourists, but not in Bocas Town, they obviously know better. My wife was born in Panama, speaks fluent Spanish, loves Panama and it's people but had never been to Bocas Del Toro and she did not like it. We did have a pleasant day at Starfish beach which was very nice and there really are many starfish. We did not have a chance to visit but I am sure there are other remote beaches that are also good with much less pollution being more remote from Bocas Town. Another tip if you plan to drive be advised there is major road work for 180 km along Pan American starting after Santiago so expect a long drive, it took us 8 hours from Coronado area. Final tip never, never think about staying the night in Almirante in order to take your car across on early 7.00am ferry, it is a desperate place you will regret staying assuming you can find an hotel. In any event you do not need a car in Bocas Town everything is within easy walking distance, and you will need to catch cheap water taxi anyway to visit any of the other islands.
Bocas del Toro in general is awesome. The town is nice with some great restaurants. I found Panamanian people overall to be fairly nice but really don't seem to care whether tourists are there or not. Beaches and food are amazing with tons of excursions, water sports, etc.
Bocas del Toro is incredibly dirty, trash everywhere, bottles, garbage in the streets, urine smell, dogs running wild eating trash, and this was just what you could see with the naked eye. I can only imagine what goes on in ktichens of restaurants! One day in town, we saw vultures picking through garbage on the street!!! It's a shame because the island itself offers beautiful views, but the area is completely run down. I will never go back.
Bocas del Toro was fun and memorable. Highlights include a boat tour around the islands and a great lobster meal fixed by Derrick at his sidewalk kiosk grill on the island of Bastimento.
Bastimentos is an island with several different areas. Al Natural Resort is at the eastern tip, secluded and quiet. At the other end, near to the town of Bocas del Toro is a village, I think sometimes called Old Bank, which is busy and loud with music. There are also good beaches on the ocean side, Red Frog Beach, Wizard Beach and others. Some can only be reached by hiking, others by boat. There are other resorts on Bastimentos as well, some entirely in the jungle. Also there is an indigenous village of the Ngobe-Bugle people which you can visit and hire a guide to take you hiking and show you the wildlife and plant life. A few places are a bit trashy, sometimes from washing up on the beach, but it's minor. The weather is typically in the upper 80's in the day and upper 70's at night and it may rain a lot. But that's what makes the rainforest which is rich and varied. Although some people live on Bastimentos year round, it is off the beaten track.
An awesome central location for going / seeing the entire Bocas Islands. Everything / all the activities that Bocas del Toro offers are easily accessible. Great little town with lots of local flare, great selection of restaurants with local foods and lots of seafood options to choose from.
I would stay on Bocas del Toro and take water taxis to beaches or attractions.
Beautiful islands, nice hotels on the water. Very close to Bocas del Toro but far enough away to enjoy the tranquility.
Bocas Del Toro is a beautiful island destination with sandy beaches and nature. Great events and tours are a key part of visiting the islands. The prices are high as everything is geared toward tourists. What was particularly disturbing was the garbage in the polluted waters. This is definitely not an ecotourism destination, and it's sad to see the beautiful nature such as the corals dying. Hopefully the locals realize this before it's too late.
Bocas Del Toro is a beautiful group of island. Bocas town, the main town is nice to go out in but is definitely not the gem of Bocas. Get out of town either on a Boat or the road to the beaches to truly experience how beautiful Bocas is.
Bocas Town
Very lovely and secluded hostel, similar to most hotels in Bocas del Toro, only accessible by water taxi. I stayed for just one night, but on the first day, there's a welcome drink for all newcomers to get to know each other a bit. Afterward, there was a family dinner followed by bingo night, although the events vary daily. You can rent kayaks and the hostel offers a wide range of activities such as hiking tours and snorkeling. There's even a cool waterslide from the lobby straight into the sea. The staff were very friendly.
Bocas Town
Skully's is a colorful bar and hostel right on the water in the Big Creek area of Bocas del Toro. The music and vibe are unapologetically old school (Blues, 70s rock, etc) with ice cold inexpensive beers and cocktails, and a great mix of locals, international backpackers and assorted ex pats. Somehow in the middle of this, Skully has managed to provide clean, quiet private rooms with a gorgeous view of the ocean. This is a great, fun stay for short periods (eg up to a week).
Bocas Town
I really liked the hotel staff and their attention to our needs and explaining the issues with the water shortage in Bocas Del Toro. The last place we stayed had no water at all and that is why we migrated to Tierra Verde. It is a short walk to the surf and many great restaurants. The Wi-Fi was reliable and fast. Although the pool was low, we still enjoyed the shallow wade pool. Breakfast was simple but more than adequate (eggs, fruit, bread, spreads, juice, coffee and tea)
Bocas Town
of all the stats we had in Bocas del toro ( and the had 4 ) this was out absolut favorite. nice staff, cool reception: hang out area, modern, young crowd, located just a 5min walk away from the party street so you don’t hear all the noise when you are sleeping. you can choose between different kinds of accommodations. like if you Lege a young backpacker and want a shared room or like us, a regular hotel room with your own bathroom. Wi-Fi worked everywhere.
Bocas Town
a quieter and more unique option than the hotels in the town of Bocas, but still so convenient and close. The owners are fantastic people and hosts, so welcoming of our family with young kids and attentive to every detail. They had everything we needed and more- paddle boards, snorkeling equipment, games, sunscreen etc. The breakfast was top notch! If we come back to Bocas del Toro we would absolutely stay here again!! 10/10 recommend!!
Bocas Town
,Staff were super friendly, they felt like family. Water slide were amazing. The staff offered us transportation to & from town. Anything you need from town, the staff is super helpful helping you find it. 10 out of 10, i will be returning for my last night in Bocas Del Toro. I will be going scubadiving with Aldo, one of the managers at the hostel. Alcohol prices are very reasonable, cheaper than in town.
Wow! Tropical Suites is nothing short of amazing! It is so beautiful - right on the water with an incredible pool, bar and restaurant. Our room had a patio and full kitchen, was a perfect size for a full week in Bocas Del Toro. The location is perfect, and the staff was so helpful in answering questions and helping us to book water taxis and tours. I highly recommend this hotel!
Great Customer service, staff really attentive, proactive and ready to help. Very good location, safe and quiet neighbourhood. Very good option for resting and exploring Bocas del Toro. I was allowed to check out late for free, at 4:30pm, since I had a late flight. THUMBS UP! :) I had a great time at Gran Hotel Bahia. I recommend it for your stay in Bocas del Toro.
Everything about The Hummingbird was done well. We were made to feel very welcome from the initial contact on arrival in Bocas Del Toro. The gardens and room provided ample opportunity to slow down and enjoy all that nature offers in Panama. We had a much needed recharge during our stay and would return in a heartbeat.
Bocas Town
beachfront location, great eco lodge type of property, we were immersed with nature saw all different types of birds, sloths, lizards. The staff was pretty amazing and the hotel food was very good as well. We will definitely be back - it’s one of the few hotels in bocas del toro that is beach front
The hotel is situated right on the water with a great view towards Bocas del Toro, and with a gentle cool breeze present all day long. Breakfast was excellent with many cups of coffee, while watching the water taxis sailing back and forth.
Bocas Town
We loved the Riva. For us it was the perfect place to discover Bocas del Toro. Ania and Gabriel are amazing hosts. You can snorkel just in front of the hotel and relax on the beautiful terrace. 100% recommendation!!!
The fact that it was on the water, but half places in Bocas del Toro are on the water
OMG! This place is simply amazing. Everything:the location, accommodations, food and of course the people. This trip was a dream come true. I will never forget it. Very ecologically conscious as well. They have a solar panels on each bungalow, so the electricity in your bungalow is not enough for charging your phones. We would charge it in the restaurant area. It would be smart to bring a power bank. No TV in the bungalows as well, which no one really remembered, cause the view is better than any TV. They also have snorkeling equipment and paddle boats available to u for free. The food is simply amazing :all kinds of a seafood, but they have chicken too. Amazing clear water that u can jump directly from your bungalow to and just watch the fishes and some other creatures swimming buy, coral reefs. I know, many people have advised to buy a bug repellant. We did not see any bugs or mosquitoes, only those tiny 🦎,very tiny. However your bed is surrounded by this net, so nothing comes thru while u are asleep. Bed is very comfortable, the bathroom is great: running water, hot, cold.On that location there is no store, so if u wanna have some snacks and extra stuff, make sure u get it at Bocas Town before u get into the motor boat. That's what I did.U might not wanna bring little kids there. It's pretty much, a couple's getaway. Although we saw some people that looked like they were just friends. The couches in your bungalow are comfortable to sleep on as well, so one bungalow can easily fit 4 people. The master bedroom is on a second floor of a bungalow. They do bring bottled water daily, also because they are advising not to drink the running water. I'm so happy I went there, if u are conteplating- please, go! thank u so much to all the Punta Caracol staff.
I would like to give a special thanks to Mario, Sérgio, Stephanie, Shayra, Arturo. I noted their names because they were an excelent team and we felt very confortable.
The privacy nature and the hospitality … extremely friendly owners … and the hotel the beach exptional
Beautiful hut with direct access to water and a fresh water shower on our porch. A dream come true! The staff is very attentive and super nice (just to name a few: JJ and Alejandro!). There is a beautiful little nature reserve which belongs to the hotel and we saw caimans, red frogs, multiple sloths and other fun stuff. The hotel is close to Old Bank which is great for food and a stroll! We will definitely come back!
