No Kiwi SEEN by the cabin area but a walk down the main road resulted in a sighting! The STARS above you & it’s no dream.

Nestled among peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. There was a separate room for the bed. I also liked that they provided plates and cups.

With panoramic views of the Tasman Sea, The Bay Motel overlooks Halfmoon Bay on Stewart Island. It features a nearby golf course, a free shuttle service and free private parking on site. Spacious comfortable and clean rooms, the property is in a great location surrounded by nature but very close to the town. The hosts were so friendly helpful and attentive made our stay much better just with their great service.
South Sea Hotel - Stewart Island

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the center of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals. The property is just across the street from the beach in Oban. It has a bar and cafe on premise which I enjoyed.

From $59 per nightCentrally located hotel. We stayed in a studio room which was large with a comfortable bed, private bathroom and kitchenette. It was private with minimal road noise and easy access to Stewart Islands main street. Easy walk from the ferry. There isn't a view as the studios are at the rear of the hotel.

From $113 per nightThe staff bent over backwards to get our room ready when we were early. The views were beautiful the apartment was clean practical and very very comfortable. The outside barbecue facilities and courtyard caught the Sun and was a great place to make dinner. Stewart Island was the highlight of our trip.
