Offering free WiFi and set on the bank of a stream, Chalet Karaka offers accommodation 3 minutes' drive from Takaka village in Golden Bay. Chalet Karaka was absolutely delightful - a hidden gem, tucked away in a beautiful, tranquil bushy setting with a small picturesque stream running at the bottom of the garden. The shower was fantastic - excellent pressure with a lovely glass side looking out onto the private garden and stream. The room was spacious and well appointed and the icing on the cake was the generous outdoor undercover living area/deck complete with a Weber for all your barbecue requirements. Ngairie, our host, was friendly, welcoming and very helpful.

Waitapu Springs B&B is set in Takaka and offers a spa and wellness centre and a shared lounge. This 3-star bed and breakfast features a spa experience, with its sauna and hot tub. Wonderful welcoming and informative hosts, a delicious breakfast, helpful information on how to spend time in that area, lovely spot. Highly recommend.

Shady Rest Bed & Breakfast provides a garden, as well as accommodation with a kitchen in Takaka. The property features mountain and garden views. The hosts were very welcoming, helpful, and fun to talk with. We enjoyed the delicious breakfast, conversation, and the wonderful and varied artwork on the walls. Marc and Janice were the perfect hosts.

Set in tranquil surroundings with beautiful gardens and just 10 minutes' North of Takaka, Patons Rock Beach Villas offers free WiFi and a barbecue. The beach is just a 4-minute walk from the property.... Beautiful location near to beach. Villa had everything we needed and was very clean and quiet. Lovely gardens.

Located in Takaka, 10 minutes' drive from the beach, The Rocks Chalets features air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi throughout the property. Free private parking is available on site. Eclectic little cluster of 4 chalets well maintained right outside of Tanaka (short 1 km walk on paved trail into town). Wonderful, welcoming owners who see after everything with great detail. Originally booked here because Kaiteriteri over the hill had nothing left, but would stay in Golden Bay again in heart beat. Nice drive to Totaranui on easy gravel road to take water taxi to Abel Tasman.

Situated in the heart of Pohara Beach at Golden Bay, Ratanui Lodge was fully refurbished in winter 2021, it offers rooms with free Wi-Fi and free continental breakfast in a beautiful natural setting. This is a beautiful location to stay in Abel Tasman Nationalpark. The hosts were friendly and breakfast was tasty and fresh. Would definitely come again.

Woodland eco retreat is set in Parapara. The property has garden views. There is a sun terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. We booked rather last minute and were pleasantly surprised by our accomodations. We booked it at 4pm, called, and Heather said to check in whenever we're ready. We got there around 5:30 after we picked up groceries for the next 2 days. It's easy to find and in a great location in Golden Bay amongst wooded nature. Upon parking, we were greeted immediately by Heather who helped cart our luggage across a bridge over a small creek. Our little house was a short walk across the lawn, and it was a large space with a lot of light. The photos don't do it justice. Heather had a vase full of fresh cut flowers, 2 bowls of fruit picked from her yard, and a platter of nuts for us to enjoy, and showed us how to use the composting toilet that was in an adjacent build out (it's not inside the house but the 2 step walk is connected and covered). Most toilets we encountered in Golden Bay were composting toilets. She also gave us the option of using the laundry facilities or the flush toilet in her house. Beds were comfortable, kitchen was fully functional, and showers were hot. It was peaceful, beautiful, quiet, and the stars were beautiful. Our toddler loved it. It feels like staying at my grandparent's house, which suited us just fine. On our checkout day, Heather came by and told us to take our time, since no one else booked the place. Great value, would stay there again!

Beachfront Bliss - Your Parapara Seaside Retreat is situated in Parapara. Both free WiFi and parking on-site are accessible at the holiday home free of charge. Everything!! The location is wonderful. The house has everything you could possibly need. Kitchen is very well equipped. The beach is lovely and very peaceful. Comfy beds and lots of space to relax inside and out. Good stores nearby.
