Location was excellent. The room was very spacious, with a very comfy bed. Jill, the host, was very welcoming and offered some great tips for lical activities.

Staying in a heritage home was a privilege. The grounds, the gardens, and the whole atmosphere was refreshingly different. Books on the history of the home were important to appreciate the life style then. Cooked breakfast served on a platter was excellent. One could select quantity. Matt and Brooke great hosts.

Unit is even better than the listing, We will spend more time there in future visits. Best "home base" for visiting the Catlins we have found. ( have been visiting South Island since 1988) Excellent value!

Lawfield BnB was a lovely cozy hideaway, with stunning views of the rolling hills, sunrise, sunset and night stars. Though the cabin was secluded and small, it was thoughtfully designed with everything that we needed for a restful and comfortable stay, including hot shower, hairdryer, USB charging pods, a kitchenette, and full length glass doors and balcony for enjoying the views. The place was neat and clean. The hosts Keith and Helen were also warm and friendly. They gave us some excellent recommendations to check out in the area, such as the annual Farmers Market at Kaka Point. Location wise, this was pretty near a few highlights along the Catlins trail, such as Nugget Point and Roaring Bay. This would make a good rest stop along the Catlins trail, or launching base to explore the Catlins. This was one of our favourite places to stay in New Zealand. We stayed for only 1 night, and wished we stayed longer. We look forward to returning to Lawfield BnB one day!

Kaka Point apartments was an exceptional property. It was like a model home. Beautifully furnished, clean, modern bathroom, plenty of tea and coffee, towels etc. The view from the apartment was stunning. We watched a sea lion on the beach one evening. We kept the curtains open at night so we could see the nighttime sky. It was just a short walk down to the beach. Wish we had stayed longer. Everything was perfect and even better than that.
