We were so full and the staff offered us take-away dessert that we could enjoy later in our room. Free shuttle bus service from Yamagata JR Station to the hotel could be reserved in advance. We made a trip to North Yamagata and hotel was able to store our luggage for our return stay. Breakfast selection was good with Western and Japanese selection. We were staying in one of the suites and it was sensational. We were told the room had been redone about a year ago and the room was luxurious and very spacious. We had our own private onsen which was amazing and so beautiful particularly when it was snowing. The communal area was also quite new (the photos don’t reflect the update). Watching the koi fish from this area was very relaxing. The public baths were also very clean and relaxing. The staff were very professional and kind. There was only one staff member who spoke English but everyone made us feel so welcome and we used a translating app when we needed to. I would definitely recommend staying here. I can’t speak highly enough about how much we enjoyed our time here.
