Set in Ito, ISANA Resort offers accommodation with free private parking, a bar and family rooms. We had a wonderful stay at the Isana Resort. The rooms are fairly simple but with great individual open air hot tubs with soothing mineral spring water. What stood out the most were the wonderful staff who work there and the most amazing meals we had in our entire trip. Chef Hide Kurosawa is a young energetic chef with talent beyond his years. His Maui roots gave us islanders an instant connection with him. The food was sublime; a French Japanese fusion of amazing flavors with the freshest of ingredients. The dining room has a display of the wagyu beef aging and local fish drying. Both dinner and breakfast were fantastic. The staff, especially Vivian, was so welcoming and accommodating. Vivian’s English is terrific and she was so service oriented and cheerful always. We felt like we were visiting long lost relatives. The resort is on a cliff side overlooking the ocean adjacent to small winding streets and the coastal road. We had a car, which made the stay there more convenient as it would be more difficult to tour the gorgeous Jagosaki Coast without wheels. There is nothing in the world like lying in mineralized hot spring water, looking at the stars and hearing the sound of the waves. In addition to our room’s hot tub we could reserve the private onsen for use and it was never busy.

They made us feel welcome from the first moment we arrived. The rooms are lovely with a sea view that is just gorgeous! The breakfast was excellent, with lots of nice taste treats! There’s a bus stop going to either Shirahama Beach or into Shimoda very close by (1-2 minutes walk). There’s a swimming pool, bar and an onsen on site. This place just can’t be faulted!

The staff was extremely helpful and nice, we were driven from and to the Izu Kogen railway station. The room was clean and modern, with a beautiful view on the graden. The hotel is a great starting point for Yogosaki Trail and Mount Omuro. In addition, there is the goodest boy in the hotel - golden retriever Nagi, who is friendly and you can pet him. We totally recommend this place!

A soli dieci minuti a piedi dalla stazione centrale di Shizuoka. Accanto c'è un centro commerciale con tanti ristoranti, e a pochi minuti il parco con le rovine del castello, il museo archeologico e il museo d'arte. Stanza spaziosa e molto ben tenuta, il perfetto mix tra occidentale e giapponese. Molto pulita. Bellissima la stanza doccia. Tutto automatizzato, checkin e checkout senza personale. C'è l'ascensore (non scontato)

Everything! You will not find a more authentic Japanese experience than this inn! I wish we had stayed longer. Everything was perfect. Unfortunately it rained for two days straight… so our sightseeing was cut short…. But staying here totally made the trip worth while!! From the welcome at reception, to the amazing view from our room and everything in between… it was perfect. We stayed in a room with a hot spring bath in the bathroom. The dinner and breakfast were delivered to our room. The “kitchen” staff were gorgeous! The futons were comfortable, and everything was spotless. We tried the open air bath at night. Such a different experience in the rain. Sitting in a warm bath, under the roof, listening to the rain falling! It was so peaceful. The owners are very kind and gracious. They are the 5th generation of the family to own the ryokan. They even offered us a lift to the station in the morning and helped us with an issue that we had with our tickets. I am definitely returning in the future!

It was characterful and charming from the first moment. The pools and onsen were awesome and the location overlooking the beach was great. The staff were friendly and helpful and the shuttle bus was great. The laundry was also helpful given we are travelling around.

Amazing sea views of the bay from room (twin with Tatami). Easy to arrive via train to Izu Kogen then <10 min taxi (1200 yen). Onsen was amazing! 1 rooftop smaller pool + 1 bigger double pool, both in the main hotel. Then the annex building separate onsen was amazing (one open air large onsen pool with views of the bay, and 1 inside pool with sauna and various mineral baths). (free for guests and can use during the day after your checkout too)

The room was very clean and there was a nice balcony overlooking the river. For the full season the buffet dinner includes all you can eat crab legs and claws, which is always amazing even though they do not provide melted butter as you would expect in per se America.

I loved everything about this hotel, they thought of everything, the foyer was luxurious, the staff so respectful, responsive and friendly. The bed was perfect, not like other hotels I stayed at which had hard beds. I liked that they provided fresh towels etc in a bag hung on your door, I didn't have to lock all my personals away each day. There is a microwave to heat.up your takeaway food and they have large combo wash/dryer for your laundry. To top it off, all that for under $100/night. Well done APA. 👍😍
