The Hotel Ristorante Villa Crespi is set in an impressive 19th-century building surrounded by private gardens which lead to a beautiful lake. This hotel is breathtakingly beautiful! Feels like you're staying in your very own private castle. Stunning architecture, lavish rooms, a relaxing atmosphere, superb views of Lake Orta, convenient but secluded location, a world-class restaurant, delicious breakfast and faultless service from the staff!

Set a few steps from the shores of Lake Orta, Hotel Bocciolo offers accommodation in Orta San Giulio, 1.5 km from Piazza Motta. Guests can enjoy restaurant service. I stayed at the Bocciolo on a last minute booking, and was thrilled I did. First, the staff is incredibly helpful and gave clear instructions on how to walk around to see the town. Second, the location is incredible. Not only close to the attractions in town (within a 20-25 minute walk), but right across from the lake as well. With my balcony room, I sat outside all evening under the umbrella in the rain sipping wine. It was fabulous. Third the breakfast - even with COVID protocols - was delicious and there were plenty of gluten free options. The mattress was better than most in Italy, and the WiFi was strong enough I could do the video call required to take my return to the States COVID test without any trouble. Overall, I loved it.

This is a beautiful small hotel, near the top of a mountain with a spectacular view. The staff was excellent, and the room was very comfortable with a balcony and a mountain view. I enjoyed a delicious dinner in the restaurant and the staff made me a breakfast "to go" because I had to leave early in the morning to catch my flight. I am so happy to have found this place and look forward to coming back another time.

Hotel La Bussola is set in a peaceful location on the promontory of Orta San Giulio, overlooking Lago d'Orta and San Giulio Island. It features a garden with swimming pool. A super location with wonderful views of the lake and the island. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The food served was lovely. There was a large variety to choose from at breakfast time.

Hotel Giardinetto is set right on the shore of Lake Orta. It offers free parking, a fine restaurant with panoramic terrace, and an outdoor swimming pool. Rooms come with free Wi-Fi. We were warmly welcomed to an upgraded room by attentive staff. We enjoyed the balcony looking over the lake and the benefit of air conditioning. The restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. The bathroom was spacious with a good shower.

The albergo's location and history were wonderful, as was its cleanliness. It is a period piece that easily accommodates today's traveler (though there is understandably no elevator). What we greatly appreciated the most, however, were the courtesy and hospitality of the owner: a gracious and helpful sculptor and art teacher whose family has owned the property for generations.
