Impressive views of Troll Waterfalls and an extensive vinyl collection of over 3000 records are notable features of Fossatún Country Hotel. This place is the best during my trip. Too bad I stayed here for only one night. Room is clean. Host is very polite and helpful. Breakfast was great!! I felt like they didn't try to save cost on food for you at all. Well, Iceland is expensive in general. So to be fair, compared to other places I have been, this place got the highest value for money. Looks like they are family running the place, and I can see they put attention to details.

Quietly located in western Iceland’s countryside, this hotel is 2 km from the Grábrók volcano in the Borgarbyggd District. It offers free Wi-Fi, outdoor hot tubs and individually decorated rooms. Lovely farm guesthouse! Cute rooms, well enough for a night stay, hot water in the shower does NOT smell of sulfur (contrary to many other hotels). The breakfast buffet was undisputedly the BEST that we had in Iceland (and we stayed in a couple of luxurious places too). The farm animals are cute and everything creates such an inviting and wholesome atmosphere. :)

Adventure Hotel Hellissandur in Hellissandur features 3-star accommodation with a bar. There is a terrace and guests can make use of free WiFi and free private parking. The staff were amazing. Patrick was exceptional, providing us with great service and suggestions for activities during our stay, including helping us spot the northern lights, which was INCREDIBLE. Breakfast was delicious and the rooms were super comfy.

Offering natural hot springs, free Wi-Fi and an in-house restaurant, this farmhouse hotel is in Iceland’s wild Westfjords. Súdavík village is within a 1-hour drive. We stayed in Heydalur in the last days of winter and it was perfect. This is an amazing place in the middle of an awesome Fjord. Our host was very nice, kind and made us feel very welcome. The dinner was fenomenal and the breakfast very good. In the morning we had a visit from a friendly fox... It was great experience.

Luxury beds and power showers are offered at Hótel Egilsen. Baldur Ferry Terminal and boats to the West Fjords and Flatey island are 300 metres away. Wi-Fi is free. Lovely small hotel in a beautiful location. You can park next to the hotel for free, the breakfast is good and the shower is one of the best we have had here with good pressure.

Set on Flatey Island in the Breidafjördur Bay, this hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Baldur Ferry Terminal that departs from Stykkishólmur. It was a great place to stay on the quiet island.

Hotel Varmaland features a shared lounge, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Varmaland. The hotel also provides free WiFi and free private parking. I came for second time with a group in that hotel. Excellent services, staff (a special apreciation for Daniel), breakfast. Quiet place, clean.
