We stayed in Heydalur in the last days of winter and it was perfect. This is an amazing place in the middle of an awesome Fjord. Our host was very nice, kind and made us feel very welcome. The dinner was fenomenal and the breakfast very good. In the morning we had a visit from a friendly fox... It was great experience.

Set on Flatey Island in the Breidafjördur Bay, this hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Baldur Ferry Terminal that departs from Stykkishólmur. Flatey Island is one of those places you visit once in a lifetime, if you're lucky. We had the opportunity to visit and we're not dissappointed. The only hotel on the island has a beautiful old world charm to it and the decorating is fitting- as you feel somewhat you are back in time many decades. Upon arriving to the Island hotel staff will greet you to give you directions or even a ride to the hotel (it is about a 10-15 min walk from where the ferry docks). The hallways and rooms are nicely decorated and upkept. The staff called us earlier the same day before our arrival to confirm the number in our party and to be sure they could accommodate our needs. They were very friendly and welcoming upon our arrival. We enjoyed a nice dinner in the restaurant and the included breakfast the next morning exceeded our expectations.

This hotel, opened in June 2013, is situated along the coast in Patreksfjordur, a fishing village in Iceland’s Westfjords. It offers an à la carte restaurant with a bar and daily breakfast buffet. The restaurant at the hotel was top class and the service warm and professional at the same time. Thank you, Paolo, for treating us so nicely. The view from the rooms overlooking the sea is just great. This is a modern hotel with a nice local touch in the old photos on display in the corridors.
