We have been travelling in Iceland for 3 weeks and have stayed in some outstanding (plus a couple of not quite outstanding) accommodations. The Lake House is by far our favourite. The view from the conservatory and the deck were exceptional. We decided to take a ‘rest day’ here to just enjoy the view, the peace and the hot pot. It was great having access to coffee, herbs and spices left by the owners to use in our meal prep. Access was very easy with the lockbox. The heating was already on for us which was greatly appreciated. Btw I loved the swans in the pond. 😂

This property is near Akranes Harbour and 1.3 km from Akranes Museum Centre. It offers a pretty, hedged garden and a large, furnished terrace. Wi-Fi and parking are free. excellent kitchen & shared lounge & bathroom facilities- host provided a breakfast basket which was an unexpected treat. lovely hosts there to greet us on arrival.

We had an amazing stay and felt really at home. It is a very welcoming place and the big windows allow a beautiful view. And the kitchen is provided with everything you need.The silence, the snow, the backdrop of the mountain was absolutely magical.

Offering unique guest rooms in refurbished busses, Esjan offers accommodation in Kjalarnes, 21 km from Reykjavík. Free private parking is available on site. The view and the location are amazing. The fact that we can see the mountains from one window, the ocean from another and it is also a perfect spot to see the Northern Lights make it unbeliably lovely. 10/10, would come back to it anytime!
