The once summer palace to the Regent Queen of Travancore, Misty Mountain is located at Peermade. The property is spread across 600 acres. It is 200 metres from the Kuttikkanam Bus Station. Stay at Misty Mountains definitely exceeded our expectations. The place itself has a lot to offer to the people staying there, including beautiful surrounding nature, birds and falling water sounds, spices and tea tours, hiking routes, and even bird watching. The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff were exceptional and the food was amazing. If you are planning to visit Thekkady or will be cruising around this area, most definitely consider spending one or two nights at the Misty Mountains Experience.

In the afternoon, we enjoyed a delightful selection of freshly brewed coffee accompanied by delectable homemade snacks, further enhancing our overall experience. As the morning dawned and we drew back the curtains, we were met with a breathtaking view of the seemingly infinite expanse of verdant greenery. The breakfast served to us was nothing short of divine, with an array of delectable options that left our palates thoroughly satisfied. We wish to express our sincere gratitude to Justin, Abin, and the entire staff who provided us with their invaluable assistance throughout our stay. In each unit we were surprised to find 2 big rooms which could easily accommodate 3 guests! There is a bed in the lounge area. And a double bed in the bedroom. Hotel is quite close to the Periyar shuttle bus stop. An auto rickshaw which can easily accommodate 3 pax charged ₹50/- to drop us there. Food at the Cinnamon Restaurant in the hotel was very good. We tried the local fish curry which was delicious! We also used the Spa facility for foot massages which was relaxing after the long Nature Walk in the Periyar National Park.

Outstanding in all regards: the host George is super nice and helpful. He also prebooked tours within the park for us, as that was not possible to do with a non Indian credit card. The room was very tastefully done and spotless clean. Also the bathroom had a separate shower which was very nice. The location is perfect, as it is idyllicaly set within a Plantation surrounded by green, but also just a short ride to the entrance of the periyar national park.

Staff were amazing! Adel was such a fantastic host and kind hearted person. We arrived having not been able to book the Periyar national park hike because of foreign card issues. When we arrived within 5 minutes the staff had booked it for us for the following day. They had refillable water stations meaning less plastic waste. Seen lots of animals around the grounds. Art work on the walls was amazing too. Felt more home stay than hotel
