Familiedrevne Shamrock Lodge Hotel ligger omgitt av vakre hageanlegg i hjertet av Irland, 5 minutters gange fra restauranter, barer og uteliv i Athlone sentrum. We had an unusual experience during our stay here. We had a lovely room, very large and comfortable, and all the reception people we dealt with were very helpful. In the morning after our first night, my husband had a kidney stone attack, and we had to go to the hospital. It was a Sunday and the receptionist told us we needed to go to Portiuncula Hospital and she called a taxi. After that, he was admitted to hospital, and I was on my own for the next night and I had to add on one more night, which was in a smaller room, but equally as comfortable. I appreciated being able to have dinner at the hotel for the two nights on my own, and the meals were very good. I had the breakfast on one morning, and it was very good, with lots of variety. I also appreciated the kindness and understanding of the reception staff. On the morning I left, because I had to wait for a taxi, the receptionist had tea and a biscuit brought to me. It was a memorable stay, perhaps for the wrong reasons, but I will always remember the staff at the Shamrock Lodge Hotel.

Very friendly staff. Great spa-location, especially the sauna was very relaxing. Cute location with castlelike structures made us feel like being in a fairytale.

A special mention to Nicole in conference & events who is an absolute asset to the team & has made all my booking a breeze to organise. This 4-star hotel has a Championship golf course and is 5 miles from Athlone. All newly reformed rooms at the Glasson Lakehouse have free Wi-Fi, TVs and a room service menu. Decor, staff and location were fabulous. Such a great hotel and an experience I would recommend anyone to try. Also you can bring your doggie which was lovely

After a lot of days of walking in the rain it was nice to be in a cozy hotel steps away from the city sites. And a nice pool, steamroom and sauna to relax and feel warm Ease of check-in despite a lot of people checking in at the same time. Staff was very helpful and calm.
