It was the first town we stayed in The Gambia, while we were traveling with cars. The hosts were super nice and very very helpful. Staying there was really refreshing! If you want to understand how nice and welcoming Gambian people are, you should definitely book this place.

We absolutely loved our stay at AbCa's Creek Lodge! The lodge is charming with a variety of different seating areas along the creek. Ansu the guide gave us a great hiking tour, as well as a lovely boat tour through the mangroves, where we saw a variety of birds. Do note that the creek tide ebbs and flows - the creek looks nearly empty in the late afternoon compared to the morning, so time your water activities accordingly. We later went kayaking through the mangroves which was beautiful though we opted to turn around instead of going all the way to the village which meant fighting the current and ebbing tide - a bit of a physical feat but well worth the adventure! The staff was very accommodating, including storing our luggage late and organizing a driver to and from the Lodge (who also kindly stopped at the artisanal market en route). Our wooden stilt room had both a fan and A/C and was quite comfortable (though note the bathroom is private but open to the air, so beware some mosquitoes and spiders). Food options were plentiful and delicious. Absolutely loved relaxing outside watching dozens of monkeys! Highly recommend, this was our favorite part of our visit in The Gambia.

This was my first time staying in a forest hotel and even though the hotel room was a tent, the facilities were very good with air conditioning and washroom. The Safari experience was very good and I took a lot of pictures of birds and wild animals. The staff of the hotel are very warm and polite and provide professional English service. It was a very memorable experience.

Feel Free Lodge er staðsett á Jinack Island og er með sjávarútsýni, veitingastað, sameiginlega setustofu, bar, garð og sólarverönd. Nice and quiet place. Just cool down and let the animals come to you.

Jinack Lodge í Jinack Island býður upp á gistirými, garð, verönd, bar og sjávarútsýni. Keilusalur og snarlbar eru á staðnum. Directly on the kilometer long beach. Perfect bathing conditions (slightly sloping, no currents, no rocks, no dangerous fish/jellyfish, etc.). Free sunbeds. Super nice staff. Great breakfast, lunch and dinner (also vegetarian if desired). The huts are large and comfortable including large mosquito nets. All huts are solar powered. ps. They have German Beer and Wine from South Africa :)

Les Fromagers er staðsett í Missira, 6,6 km frá Fathala-friðlandinu og býður upp á gistirými með útisundlaug, ókeypis einkabílastæði, garð og sameiginlega setustofu. The hotel is located in a beautiful village next to a lake and the oldest tree in this region (it's very impressive to see). We stayed at les Fromagers because we wanted to visit the Fathala Wild life reserve that is close by. On our arrival we found out that there are so many other activities to do like going fishing, watching crocodiles, visiting the islands etc. The owner of the place are very friendly and helpful. We experienced their great hospitality and felt very comfortable during our stay. I can recommend you also to try out their restaurant, since you get very tasty seafood there, freshly caught by the local fisherman. We will definitely visit again, when we are in Senegal.
