Llanymynech
We had an excellent stay here on the way down from Conwy to Powys. Pre arrival the hosts were very helpful and booked us a table for dinner at the nearby Bradford Arms - which was excellent value . We received a warm welcome from Jamie upon our arrival at the hotel and were impressed with Sam's friendliness and enthusiasm the next morning over a delicious breakfast . We really enjoyed hearing about as well as seeing the progress they are making in restoring this gorgeous house back its former glory and we wish them every success!
The room was decorated to a high standard and very clean. The breakfast was excellent and the all round service including the bar & staff was very good. Everybody was very helpful and polite Nice place to stay and very convenient for Powys Castle.
We had a lovely welcome from the receptionist despite the fact that she had just burnt herself. Someone helped us with our bags. Each morning we were greeted at breakfast by a cheerful young lady which started the day well. Our bedroom was large clean and luxurious. We had delicious meals each evening and there was a huge lounge to relax in with lots of corners for privacy. The ground are extensive and inviting despite the damp weather.
The Castle Of Brecon Hotel is a very nice place to stay. Many updates & improvements have been done while keeping the history of the hotel intact. The employees are friendly and are willing to assist visitors.

Quiet cottage, very new & clean!
Lovely, friendly staff. We stayed in a refurbished room that was cosy, modern and very clean. Breakfast was great. Would definitely recommend and visit again.
I had breakfast and dinner each day and they were excellent. The dinners in particular. The room was comfortable wth a fine view of the hills through the window. An excellent place for reading and reflection, as one might expect in an old rectory.
Everything was amazing! Very atmospheric house and the area around it: green hills, river, sheep, geese and chickens. You will recognize that you're in a special place at the moment when Robin and Jane serve you an incredible royal breakfast (or dinner if you want). Location is great! We traveled all over Snowdonia, we did a lot of trails, we were on rivers, lakes, waterfalls, stunning sandy beaches. It was a truly amazing trip for us and our dog! We will miss it very much and will recommend this place to all our friends!
It was such a beautiful cottage that felt more than a home than a holiday cottage. It had everything you could need plus it was set in beautiful peaceful countryside. The hosts were helpful but not intrusive and left us to enjoy the cottage and our time as a family.
Lovely, seems historic to an American!
The pool, the location, the amazings hosts, the view….everything.
