Set in a 19th-century building, The Sands Hotel, Orkney is located along the shore of Scapa Flow in Burray village. It has a bar, a restaurant and beautiful sea views. A very nice and clean hotel with extraordinarily friendly staff, especially a woman who worked almost all day! Excellent food and a relaxed and cosy atmosphere, we really enjoyed our stay and would like to come back, thank you very much!

Amazing room. Fantastic breakfast with the chef cooking a perfect fried egg for a very fussy person and amazing porridge with rhubarb compote.

The style and decoration of the hotel were lovely and useful. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was very clean. The staff was very thoughtful and kind.

Located on the Orkney Island, 14 miles from Kirkwall, Smithfield Hotel offers 3-star accommodations with free parking, a bar, and a restaurant. Kirkwall airport is 30 minutes’ drive away. Very warm welcome from staff. The room was spacious, warm and very comfortable with quality bedding and pillows. Very good shower, great cooked breakfast, with choices, and free parking. Nice and quiet, away from the main towns, supermarket and fuel across the road. Central access to island sights. Highly recommend.

Located on the shore of Harray Loch and family-run for over 30 years, the Merkister Hotel is a 15-minute drive from the main towns of Kirkwall and Stromness. Not only is the Merkister Hotel beautiful, the staff are amazing too! We absolutely loved our stay and can’t thank the staff enough for all their efforts to make our stay special.

The Stromness Hotel is set in Stromness. This hotel offers free WiFi. Ring of Brogdar is 3.7 mi away and Standing Stones of Stenness is 3.7 mi from the hotel. This is one of the best place I stayed in during my trip ! The staff was welcoming, the room beautiful and comfy, and the restaurant EXCELLENT and not expensive ! I recommend it to anyone who would like to stay in a historical building near the port !

West End Guest House is set in Kirkwall, 0.7 mi from Highland Park Distillery. Free private parking is available onsite. Certain rooms feature a seating area for your convenience. No hesitation in thoroughly recommending this guest house. It has excellent staff who all do their jobs in a totally profesional manner, they are a source of lots of useful information about the weather, attractions, buses and even steer you clear of dangereous roads for walkers (traffic on Orkney can be ruthless!) The rooms may intially seem a little dated, but they are well equiped and a great place to get dry. There's an outstanding cooked breakfast which you pre order I found this prevented delays and hearing "we've got your order muddled" which I ecountered in another hotel whilst I was in Scotland. There's also a good range of cereals and fruit -a cornucopia has nothing on this place,
