Converted from an 18th-century farmstead, Battlesteads is a stylish country inn with en suite rooms and an 80-seat restaurant. It is set in beautiful countryside close to the Roman Wall. Amazing! Stuff, food, apartment, we were suprised what a wonderful place.

The room was perfectly comfortable. The charm of such a historic building cannot be overstated either. The food was excellent. The staff were friendly and inviting. Also, the distance to Hadrian's Wall is an easy hike. Overall it was wonderful.

On entering the property you think you have booked a pub room only to be blown away when entering your room. Sheer beauty! The details are phenomenal...local chocolates and delights scattered around the room, stunning details of lights to bespoke tiles in the bathrooms. One of my most delightful hotel room experiences. Also worth mentioning is the beautiful gardens, friendly and helpful staff and the made to order breakfast in the morning
