The owners were very welcoming and helpful. It was a great spot from which to explore the area, including the beautiful ancient village of Limeuil. Would definitely recommend it!

Beautiful garden and pool. Spa in the basement that coujld be used privately. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast (optional) and free refreshments and snacks during the day. Great stay! absolutely recommended.

This hotel is just 170 metres from the Cro-Magnon Shelter and 350 metres from the National prehistoric Museum. Dating from 1964, it offers a heated, outdoor swimming pool and an on-site bar. The hotel was a delightful gem in a small town destination. We were greeted at check-in with a refreshing beverage on a warm evening, over which selection of soaps and shampoos were provided for us to smell and construct custom combinations in an effort to reduce plastic consumption. We enjoyed a fantastic meal on the outdoor patio of their Michelin Guide-mentioned restaurant, including a cheese course assembled table-side from a selection of over 20 different varieties. The service in the hotel and the restaurant was impeccable. The town of Les Eyzies is known for being the site of the discovery of the Cro-Magnon human remains, and Font-de-Gaume, a cave containing prehistoric polychrome cave paintings and engravings available for public viewing. We primarily chose Hôtel le Centenaire for its proximity to these sites; we regret not staying more nights at this lovely hotel.

Le Mas del Pechs is situated on the hill of Sarlat-la-Canéda, just 1 km from the heart of the medieval city. We were 2 couples, old friends, one American and one French on a road trip. We used this hotel as our base for 6 nights in the Dordogne as it not far from most of the sites we intended on visiting. We were extremely happy with our stay, starting with our hostess, Anne Marie, who gave us a warm welcome and was especially helpful with recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing, even making reservations for us. Our rooms were spotless, nicely sized with beautiful bathrooms and separate toilets. We had a lovely terrace and a view of the grounds. It was too cold to go swimming but the pool looked very inviting. The breakfasts (not included but fairly priced) were very good with lots of choices. We chose this hotel as it seemed to be a calm oasis to relax in after sightseeing and we were not disappointed. This was the by far the best place we stayed in during our 3 week trip in France.

An ideal place for adventures in the Dordogne valley.
