Offering a sun terrace and views of the city, Hotel Mustaparta is situated in Tornio, 1.4 km from Haparanda. Guests can enjoy the on-site bar and a la carte restaurant. I had a beautifully decorated room. The hotel was centrally located and the attached restaurant had great food.

Hotelli Olof is located in Tornio, just a 2-minute drive from Haparanda. The modern guest rooms features a flat-screen TV, a work desk and free WiFi. Arrived in the morning by night train from Helsinki - arranged pick up by Hotels own taxi service, followed by very early check-in at around 10 a.m. with no extra cost (thank you!). Very friendly and helpful staff. Large and comfortable Lounge with free coffee and biscuits. Central location of the Hotel, train connections on both the Finnish and the Swedish side. Delicious breakfast with many options. Luggage storage for departure day. Would definitely come back, good place for stopover and local points of interest (museum, wooden church).

Kongressihotelli Joentalo is located in Tornio, 3.2 km from Haparanda and 23 km from Kemi. There is free private parking with heater outlets. Quiet area. Nice big very clean room. Excellent variety breakfast. Car parking inside the huge premises.

Located 250 metres from Lappari Activity Park and 10 minutes' walk from Haparanda, this hotel features 3 restaurants. There is also a relaxation area with 3 saunas and an indoor pool and gym. The staff was really hospitable and figured our group of 26 people a meeting room at night to gather up and spend some time together.

The proximity to the train is amazing as it is just a few steps away from the platform and yet the room is quiet and super easy to navigate. The cafe is delightful, breakfast is lovely, coffee is solid, and the gift shop is great with local items and handicrafts. Definitely the best place to stay in Kemi.

Hotel Yöpuu is in southern Kemi, next to European Route E8 and a 5-minute drive from the city centre. It offers international cuisine, free sauna access and free parking. The hosts were warm and wonderful. It was like meeting up with an old friend. The view to the forest from our window was magical with snow-filled trees. We called to say we would arrive late and they waited for us. They also made the buffet breakfast available for an extra 30 minutes. Delicious meatballs!
