Housed in a former convent, built in the 15th century, the Parador de Plasencia hotel has kept its stunning, original architecture, including spacious hallways, archways and courtyards. A beautiful old monastery right in the centre of Plasencia with very friendly and efficient staff. I spent just one night here with two friends in a pleasant, quiet triple room. Great towels, comfortable bed, nice furnishings and well functioning air conditioning for when it was 38 degrees outside! Breakfasting and eating in a parador can be expensive but luckily we found the restaurant/bar Bari nearby. It was so hot we only made it as far as the Bari, which is the first place you come to when you go out the front door, and fortunately the food was great. We had breakfast and dinner there. I would love to go back and stay at the Parador in Plasencia when the temperatures are more civilized.

Palacio Carvajal Girón is located next to Plasencia's main square and just a few minutes' walk from the city's main monuments. Superb breakfast buffet! Modern rooms and bathrooms with crisp linens and great towels. Housekeeping impeccable!

Located 5 minutes' drive from Plasencia centre and with easy access to all major roads, this hotel is just a 20 minute drive from the beautiful Monfragüe Park. Management was very helpful. Secure parking for my motorbike

HOTEL LOS ALAMOS BOUTIQUE asub Plasencias, 33 km kaugusel Parque Natural de Monfragüe'ist ja 3,1 km kaugusel Plaza Mayorist. A very comfy hotel, clean and good beds. Food in the restaurant was good value for money

Terrassi, restorani ja baariga POSADA EL ARRIERO asub Torrejón el Rubios, 39 km kaugusel Parque Natural de Monfragüe'st. Excellent traditional Posada. Family-run. Room was very clean and in spite of cold weather (December), the heater worked very well. Plenty of blankets, comfortable bed. Great shower. The traditional food was excellent, local and the portions were huge, including the breakfast. Friendly reception. Perfect location for visiting Monfragüe, and the village is interesting to wander through. Free parking next to the Posada.

Hospederia Parque de Monfragüe is set in the heart of Extremadura, between the historic cities of Plasencia, Trujillo and Cáceres. Breakfast is well worth paying for! Super!

We absolutely loved this hotel. So absolutely peaceful in the fresh air of open quiet countryside. You could hear only the sounds of the bees and the birds. It reminded me of the lodges I occasionally stayed in when I lived in East Africa many years ago,providing just what you need in a very simple and tranquil way. The host and his team were charming and helpful. Unfortunately the company supplying electricity was upgrading something in the supply and had planned a power cut for the morning we left. We were warned this was going to happen and that the hotel would be closing until power was returned. We would have loved to stay longer
