Hotel in Montego Bay
Set in Montego Bay, S Hotel Montego Bay - Luxury Boutique All-Inclusive Hotel Small Luxury All-Inclusive Hotel is a 4-star hotel that has a 24-hour front desk, swimming pools, sky pools, bars, room... S Hotel is an outstanding example of hospitality done well. Great facilities, well kept, clean and comfortable. The sheer abundance of space in the room and within the property brings you that 5* feel from the get go. Staff are out of this world - polite, attentive and perfectly balancing friendliness and professionalism. They have truly taken our stay to another level - literally, by allocating us to a room on the 6th floor on our next stay so we had even better views. This is a truly incredible team. My husband and I had the best anniversary celebration, and it really felt like our honeymoon! Really top notch! I travelled a lot and have been to other 5* places; in my experience, S Hotel tops them all. I am so happy I picked them over Sandals.

Hotel in Ocean Park, San Juan
Located in San Juan and with Ocean Park Beach reachable within a 3-minute walk, La Botanica Hotel provides a garden, non-smoking rooms, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. What an oasis! The hotel has only about 8 rooms and once you enter the front door, you feel like in a different world with plants, flowers, smells, … They offer yoga every morning and Ayurvedic breakfast (it was included) which is cooked freshly and beautifully presented. At night you come back from the city and feel like in a jungle, with the sounds from Coqui frogs, pretty lights in the trees, perfect to calm down and relax. We had a great outdoor shower, everything was very very clean and well maintained (not only our apartment/ balcony but the whole hotel). Our apartment could only be reached via a spiral staircase, a bit challenging with a suitcase, but the lady at the reception immediately helped us both at checkin and checkout - she just carried it up/down for us. The stay was an amazing experience in itself - we would come back!

Hotel in Santa Bárbara de Samaná
Located in Santa Bárbara de Samaná, 1.2 miles from Cayacoa Beach, Hacienda Samana Bay Hotel provides accommodations with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a fitness center and a garden. After having been in many hotels, even in more exclusives, I was very positively suprised of the incredibly cleanliness and well maintained facilities. The rooftop pools I think are worth to spend time as they have beach towles, hot showers, bar service and most espectacular natural water less poisened with cemicals. All of the hotel is like new, as it is finished in 2021. The plenty elevators are not only easy to have them available but also that you don't even realize when they are moving you, the aircon works so silent that you're not able to know from the sound that is on or off but at the clean air you may realize it wonderfully surrounding when you might enjoy the incredibly comfy beds. The stuff was so friendly to us, they let us park the car in the basement parking at the elevator, always receiving us with a smile and open to read our wished from us. We did like the food at the restaurant, as we are coffee lovers, the Macachino was our favorite. Having been many times to Samana, it was a very good experience.

Great place to relax and "do nothing" or participate in activities. For a family with older children, there is flexibility for each member to do his/her own thing or to be together a family. We chartered a small boat with El Tour Caribe to take us snorkeling. Our Captain (Tito) was very pleasant and we enjoyed the personalized service rather than going on one of the larger party boats. Having snorkeled at a number of other Caribbean islands and Hawaii, the snorkeling off Punta Cana was only fair.
A very picturesque old city. We felt very safe and the people were warm and friendly... not aggressive like other Caribbean islands were people swamp you to sell their merchandise or services. FOOD! There were so many great choices... We would highly recommend Punto de Vista Restaurant and Bar (rooftop, Mojitos and outstanding food) and Casa Cortes ChocoBar (Amazing Chocolate and breakfast choices)
Friday Night Jump Up was interesting. Fun music. Makes for good people watching. Really good street food, too. People were friendly but by the end of the 5 day trip, I was sick and tired of being hustled, solicited, and pan-handled. Seriously, you can't walk 10 meters/yards without someone wanting to sell you something, offer you a service (guide), sell you ganja, or beg a handout from you. I guess it comes with the territory and being Caucasian. The only way to avoid it is to stay on the resort. I haven't experienced it to this degree on any other of the many Caribbean islands I've visited but perhaps I've just been lucky. If you go to the Friday Night Jump Up, don't drive. Taxi's are easy to get and so much more convenient than trying to find a safe place to park a rental car, plus you're free to enjoy the Piton beers or the rum punch if you're not having to drive.
Nassau is the biggest island in the Bahamas but that doesn't take away from the island charm! The people are very friendly and always wiling to do whatever they can to please you. You can choose from a variety of cuisines from fast food to Italian to true Bahamian dishes. Many people choose to go and eat at the fish fry or Arawak Cay for authentic Bahamian food but I was content with the abundance of restaurants at the Atlantis. Expect to add 15% gratuity to everything, this is always added to your bill so always be cautious of this so that you do not add more unless you want to, there are exceptions however like taxi services and the bell men at hotels. The island is not cheap compared to other Caribbean islands so be mindful of this when traveling here but overall I recommend Nassau as a relaxing family vacation.
Gustavia town is a compact, attractive U-shaped cocoon for luxury yachts and high-style boutiques. Good eating options, fun bars. Wherever you stay on the island, you'll want to spend a day or a couple of nights in "town". Parking can be tight. Few buildings of architectural note, but (unlike so many Caribbean islands) there's no sleaze or scruffiness here.
During my stay I did horse riding trip and dolphin discovery and it was definitely so much fun. Punta Cana is nice and clean around resorts, but when you actually get out, the place is kind of dirty and very poor (but as many other Caribbean islands,so it was expected). Beaches are beautiful and the water is nice. Only thing what makes the stay a bit uncomfortable is that people constantly expect tips for absolutely everything. Otherwise they are also very friendly and helpful. While you are there you must try traditional Dominican drink called Mamajuana! 😉
If you are after nice beaches, this is not the place. There are many Caribbean islands with pristine beaches with smooth white sand and crystal clear waters. The Piña Coladas were nice but the cuisine isn't quite up there with other cuisines we have tried.
Old San Juan is amazing. The best town of all the Caribbean islands we visited. The Forts are a must see, and just walking the streets is an adventure. Fun shops, and lots of great places to eat. I felt safe and was not afraid even at night if you stick to the main streets. We look forward to another visit.
If you like beach hawkers, poor maintenance and "dangerous" warnings about some areas, this is the place for you. Like Mexico in the '70's, they have not quite grasped the concept of good service. The Palladium Resorts are often called 5 Star, but I would give them a 2 and a half. The facilities are beautiful, but the maintenance, food quality and service are disappointing. And...you can't drink the water. Try Mexico or the Caribbean Islands instead.
It is not the best place for travelers. The most beautiful beaches are private, all of them. There is no chance to enjoy a paradise island, except you pay for the hotel there crazy money. The people are unfriendly and rude. I would recommend to visit the rest of the Caribbean islands, but not Bahamas
