We also got upgraded to the Goethe room which was a sign as we visited all the Goethe museums plus the nature walks in this visit!!

Una ciudad muy bonita y organizada. Lo malo es la dificultad para parquear. Su gente es muy amable. Hay buenos sitios para comer. No irse de Erfurt sin probar las famosas salchichas de Turingia.

La ciudad es bonita y muy tranquila.
La ciudad es bonita y muy tranquila. Realmente se disfruta una ciudad chica con comodidades de ciudad grande. Transporte público de excelente nivel. Hay que visitar la catedral, el domo y el Krämerbrücke. Como buena ciudad alemana es muy limpia y moderna, preservando en excelentes condiciones la arquitectura antigua. Se come muy rico desde la típica Bratwurst de Turingia ("* Radhaus") frente a la estación de trenes, o la comida típica en la calle Marktstrasse 50 ("Köstritzer Zum Güldenen Rade"). Infaltable probar las Kloss de Turingia (bolas de papa) o los chocolates del Goldhelm Schokolade ubicado en el Krämerbrücke.

Necesitamos hacer unas gestiones y nos facilitaron la impresora sin ningún problema. Cenamos genial en el restaurante anexo al hotel. Un lugar acogedor decorado en madera con muy buen ambiente y buena comida de Turingia.

Berghotel is located at the top of a small mountain in a heavily forested area. It is a 15 minute walk up a hill from the main tiny Friedrichroda Train Station up a winding road that passes the town cemetery. Or at the prior stop northwest of the hotel at the bottom of a ravine is the Reinhardsbrunn-Friedrichroda tiny Train Station (more like a train stop but the S-Bahn #4 and several city buses also leave from near there), and it's a 15 minute walk starting up a dirt road to get to the Berghotel. There is also a bus that runs up to the Berghotel, but it comes only a few times a day. The staff in the hotel were excellent and there was always one at the reception desk or the visitors aid desk who spoke excellent English. The room was clean and spacious enough, and my window faced northwest overlooking the forest from which small deer would sometimes emerge to chew on the grass or other herbaceous vegetation when it was dark. This is a very large hotel with the capacity for hundreds, and from the outside looks like something very blockish from the East German era. The dining area is huge, and the morning breakfasts are well supplied. The S4 tram (every 30 minutes) at the Reinhardsbrunn-Friedrichroda stop takes you to Gotha Train Station in about 40 minutes at first wandering through the forest and then through farmland and past little villages. If flying into Frankfurt, this would be a better choice to get to Friedrichroda with just the change onto the S4 (separate ticket, Euro 3.90) than the Deutsche Bahn choice of two changes (in Eisenach and then Frottstadt). With my 6 night stay at the hotel, they also gave me a "Thuringer Wald Card" that entitles the traveller to get on just about any bus/train/tram that is in Friedrichroda, including the S4 which as mentioned goes to Gotha (which itself is well worth a visit).

Los alrededores del Hotel son lindos, me gusta que están mejorando y renovando algunas áreas, a mis niños les gusto mucho, fueron nuestras primeras vacaciones de aventura solitos y lo logramos, el año pasado murió mi esposo y fue la primera vez que fuimos lejos de casa los tres totalmente solitos con el coche y estaba algo inquieta, pero realmente Dios es fiel y la pasamos súper bien, el personal muy amable, el área de la piscina agradable, los lugares de visita y paseos hermosos, creo que volveríamos.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The interior is decorated in a tasteful and cozy, yet luxurious way. Upon arrival we went straight to dinner and it was lovely. The appetizer was especially tasty. The room was nice and clean. I really liked the bedsheets. They were softer than usual hotel-style linens and the yellow color really gave a warm and comfortable feeling. The RGB lighting in the bathroom also gives an additional luxurious feel. Breakfast was good with a decent selection. Freshly squeezed orange juice is much appreciated. The tea selection was also nice. The spa was impressive, we loved the saunas, not much more to add.
