Offering an indoor pool, sauna and massage facilities and a view of the Bavarian Forest, Hotel Sonnenhof - Superior is located along the edge quiet town of Zwiesel, just a 2-minute drive from Zwiesel.... We spent 3 nights in the hotel and were satisfied beyond expectations. Everybody was really nice and friendly – unfortunately, our German is not the best, but we were offered help of members of staff who speak Czech. We were also thrilled by the menu in their restaurant, both breakfast and dinner. Regarding breakfasts, they were delicious, and we were surprised that most of the things were in reusable containers without unnecessary plastic, for example, even yoghurts, butter and Nutella were in glass containers, which is also super aesthetic. Dinners were yummy too. Their chef Jiří is a great professional and it’s clear he loves cooking! We enjoyed everything they cooked, and we had no problems choosing main courses from the menu. We didn’t use sauna, but the pool was great. There were not many people in the area and the water temperature was ideal for swimming. Of course, it’s not for relaxing in the water and hanging out there, but if you want to be active, this is the place to go. We look forward to visiting the place again!

Very friendly staff, always ready to help, especially at the restaurant! Clean rooms, comfortable beds. Breakfasts were very good, wide choice of vegetables and fruits, fresh bread, different types of cheese and ham, cereals, tasty omelette a d sausages. Coffee was also very tasty. Dinner buffet was also beyond the expectations, especially on Friday and Saturday evening: fish, meat, chicken, vegetables, wide range of desserts, soup of the day - very delicious! The bar is very cosy, nice choice of drinks and cocktails. The Spa area was amazing as well: warm enough swimming pool, two big saunas, the massage was very relaxing and professional: the best I’ve ever tried at the hotels! The location is very good-many skiing slopes nearby, just 5-10 min by car. Enough space for parking a car. Even when the hotel is full of guests, the staff is very quick and always try to help with everything!!!

Hotel is in good location for hiking and bike riding. Also good for visiting Passau, Linz and Czech Rep. I had a comfortable room with balcony and a nice view. The all inclusive deal is good value. The “Helles” was excellent. Food was typical German/Bavarian wholesome and tasty. Staff were friendly. Recommended

The location is very quiet, swimming pool and sauna excelent (no sauna service - take your towel), perfect for stay for a couple or a family. Many activities for kids, nice walks around and many possibilities for trips. We were here already third time, will come back.

My kids really enjoyed staying here, they loved the buffet, the pool and the kid friendly atmosphere. For a family break this hotel is a good option. The standards of cleanliness were excellent.

The rooftop over the car, the room, the balcony with the view, I enjoyed the oiled soap, especially good after using the pool for the skin. The breakfast is exceptionally, the variety and the quality also, especially the idea of self baking eggs. Amazing.
