It was amazing! Aaron and Ellen created a beautiful and peaceful place in the nature and at the same there is nothing you will miss. They helped with planing trips, organized great guides and explained the island and the culture while serving cocktails! We will come back!

I was in one of the, African style houses. Comfortable and basic. Excellent location. Mustafa gave great suggestions for hikes that could begin from the Casa. He arranged a very qualified guide to accompany me to the top of the volcano. He was very responsive to my emails before arrival. He arranged a car to meet me at the port when I arrived from Brava. His wife and co-owner Maritza with her staff prepares excellent meals. The dining hall is spacious with a warm floor heated by the subterranean lava. There are many maps to account for the recent eruptions. Mustapha speaks excellent English and German as well as Turkish. The lodge rose again on a new site after the 2014 eruption.

The staff was incredibly nice and helpful. Even though some of them didn’t speak very good English, they made a lot of effort to communicate with us. And they were very patient with our many requests. They also allowed us to check in earlier and check our later with no additional fees. Truly the best staff. The place looks better in real life than in the photos. It really has a colonial vibe. The AC worked perfectly - probably the best we experienced during our trip to Cabo Verde. We had an amazing view of the city, the sea and the Brava island (room no 9)

Offering a restaurant, Pensaò Big Game Maio is located in Vila do Maio, only 150 meters from Biche Rocha beach. Each room here will provide you with air conditioning, a balcony and a terrace. Wonderful stay at big game- the hosts were very kind and welcoming. Matia, Mirko, and the team went above and beyond in their service and hospitality. Great good and best tiramisu in Cabo verde! Highly recommend

The staff especially the owner Toni were so helpful in arranging transfers and organising our stay. The room was very nice and the swimming pool was great. The evening we stayed there coincided with an amazing event celebrating Women of Cape Verde with a banquet, disco and excellent live musicians. Toni helped us plan our walking tour to Alcatraz and Faja which was excellent. The hotel's location is good if you are planning hikes in the area (which is cooler than most of the island) such as around Estancia Roque and along the coast. The paths are well marked. Finally Toni made sure we got back to Sao Filipe ok when the normal aluguers werent't running as it was a holiday. I wish them all the lu ck in the world in making the hotel a success.

Amazing location right next to the beach! We slept very well as beds were very comfortable and the sound of waves crashing on the beach was so calming!
