On a scale of 1-10, this clearly is a straight 11. Within the first minutes of the arrival, I knew one night was not enough to enjoy the neither nor the island as such enough. The lodge was built on a great concept (as the name indicates - very ecologically driven), by wonderful people who will make everything to have you enjoy your stay to the fullest.

So much work and soul has been put into building and running the place that it is impossible not to fall in love with it. It is simple accommodation which has everything you need. The food is great and always available.The staff are incredible - Mustafa made our lives so easy by organising our transfers, guide, hikes, and giving us advice and help - he even gave us his card when we left in case we had any problems when travelling around the other islands. Casa Marisa is a cornerstone of the community and you feel like you are part of it while you are there.

The building as such is just beautiful and the rooms are very special with a great view. Great location in a very nice little town. We enjoyed it a lot!!! The staff especially the owner Toni were so helpful in arranging transfers and organising our stay. The room was very nice and the swimming pool was great. The evening we stayed there coincided with an amazing event celebrating Women of Cape Verde with a banquet, disco and excellent live musicians. Toni helped us plan our walking tour to Alcatraz and Faja which was excellent. The hotel's location is good if you are planning hikes in the area (which is cooler than most of the island) such as around Estancia Roque and along the coast. The paths are well marked. Finally Toni made sure we got back to Sao Filipe ok when the normal aluguers werent't running as it was a holiday. I wish them all the lu ck in the world in making the hotel a success.

Great location. Walking distance to stores. It can get a little noisy if your room is facing the entrance, but it’s not too crazy.

We watched the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean each of our three night stay. I was pleasantly surprised the room was equipped with 110v and 220v electricity outlets. The breakfast in the morning was a great selection of fresh cut fruits, homemade breads, cold cereal, eggs made-to-order, sliced cheeses, and fresh local breakfast drinks. The restaurant was open every hour we needed it to be. It was overall, I very pleasant hotel experience.
