Rinconcito Lodge features a garden and complimentary WiFi in public areas. The rooms offer a private bathroom with shower and free toiletries. They have wooden furniture. I am unsure why this lodge has a 2-star rating on Booking; it should have at least 4 stars. Here's why: 1. The location: It is spectacular; you don't see anything else but mountains and hills surrounding this lodge. Rincon de la Vieja National Park is in its backyard, providing several activities to do either independently or with a tour guide. We opted for guided tours offered by the Rinconcito Lodge (note that not all tour guides speak English). We took the horseback ride tour, starting at the Rinconcito. We rode for 45 minutes to the Santa Maria Rangers Station (entrance fee not included in the tour price). After leaving the horses at the Ranger station, we walked to the hot springs, the Morpho Waterfall, and the enchanted forest. I also highly recommend the canopy/zipline tour; we did 7 lines of canopy, and the views from the largest lines were breathtaking. The entire experience was amazing! 2. The room: The bed was comfortable, and the room (we had the mountain view room) was exactly as described in the Booking listing, with a mini fridge and AC which we did not need to use because the temp in that room was perfect. There were no surprises, except for the fact that we were amazed by how beautiful the room and the views were in real life. Waking up every morning to the sounds of colibris and other birds was simply amazing! 3. Public areas: All public areas are well-maintained and clean. We spent hours in the hammocks by the pool, and the pool itself was clean and well-kept. We absolutely loved it. 4. The restaurant: It was fantastic, albeit a bit pricey. The food was well worth it! Breakfast was included so that was a huge plus. Their drinks and desserts were fantastic too. We had the best food in Costa Rica at the Rinconcito Lodge. 5. The staff: They truly have a fantastic staff who care about their guests having a great time. We felt so welcomed, as if we were family :)

Located 54 km from Playa Hermosa, Vida Aventura Nature Park offers accommodation 16 km Rincon de La Vieja National Park. Guests benefit from free WiFi and private parking available on site. Jorge was attentive and helpful. We did the zipline and horseback riding tours which was a lot of fun!

Santa Maria Volcano Lodge offers pet-friendly accommodation. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free private parking is available on site. The rooms are equipped with a private bathroom. The staff were awesome, waking up and feeling very close to nature was a great experience for me and the family. The birds and nature were amazing. The cabin was super clean.

Hacienda Guachipelin Volcano Ranch Hotel & Hot Springs is located at the foot of the Rincón de la Vieja Volcano, in north-west Costa Rica. EVERYTHING WENT WELL, FROM THE CHECK IN TO CHECK OUT BACK TO BACK, THE BREAKFAST WAS DELICIOUS. EVERY TOUR INCLUDED AND MORE WERE EXTRAORDINARY. VERY HAPPY WITH MY BOOKING.

Located in the beautiful country side near Rincon de la Vieja National Park, Casa Rural Aroma de Campo is a quaint B&B with on-site natural springs and a kitchen serving delicious Costa Rican cuisine.... Location was super close to Las Pailas sector of Rincon de la vieja national park as well as Catarata La Leona. The owner was very helpful and kind in offering recommendations/suggestions. The room was very private, comfortable and surrounded by nature. Coffee in the room!! Breakfasts were delish and if you get to have dinner, do it! The dogs, Blue and Lily, and the parrot Koki, were an added bonus. Blue and Lily are so friendly and Koki is constant entertainment.

Surrounded by extensive gardens and featuring an on-site lake, wooden bungalows and eco-tourism activities, Buena Vista del Rincón is located in Rincon de la Vieja. Free Wi-Fi is available. Staff made it an exceptional stay! Food at the jaguar was really good at a great value. The hotel has plenty of activities that want us to come for more.

Don't expect fancy but if you are looking for a genuine experience, comfortable accommodations, and a beautiful location then this is it! Francisco and Veronica were kind and generous hosts and we loved the home-cooked breakfasts. An ideal location for our family to explore the area.
