This mountain accommodation is set in a car-free zone at an altitude of 1,450 metres above Altdorf and Flüelen. Berggasthaus Eggberge can only be reached by cable car. Peace and quiet, wonderful view, great spot for a hike. Excellent food and service in the restaurant, we found breakfast was very good.

The glass windows all around the bedroom really delivers on the mountain views. It was like spending a day inside a painting, quite surrealistic! The room has everything one needs for 1 or 2 nights. The breakfast is really good, the staff was kind enough to accommodate our diet requests. Easy parking, easy to find. Easy access from car to elevator and to the room.

Dating from the 18th century, Hotel Restaurant Goldener Schlüssel is located in the Old Town of Altdorf in the Canton of Uri. Lake Lucerne is a 10-minute drive away. Driving from UK to central Italy is tiring and unpredictable and the welcome was warm and even left a bed for the dog and a bowl, which saved me carrying up the one I travel with. I will certainly be back.

Very central and perfect for using as a base for further exploration. Everything was clean and very well organised. Breakfast was very nice, dinner was tasty and the staff were very pleasant..

Positioned in the Schächental Valley at the Klausen Pass, the Ferienstudio in Unterschächen offers views of the unspoilt nature and nearby mountains. Free WiFi is available. It was all good. The rooms are very big and amazing, and the host is very nice and helpful. The surrounding is very beautiful , we took a walk to the hill top , the views are very beautiful .
