We have already visited the region several times but without having an accommodation there. This time we chose a hotel just in the valley, where all interesting places are located around within 10 km. We were attracted by the Hochkar mountain and both the Wasserlochklamm and the Gams bei Hieflau waterfalls. The Fahrnberger hotel is a nice building already from outside and a reasonably big parking is located in front of the building. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, although we do not speak German (they also fluently speak English). We were accommodated in a nice, separate building near the main hotel building. We like the style how the hotel is equipped: it is a local Austrian natural design but providing the maximum comfort. We felt like we were on our honeymoon there. In the evening we enjoyed a great Riesling white wine in the hotel lounge. The four poster bed, located in our big and amazing room, provided a very pleasant environment in the night. The bathroom with a shower was also big and comfortable. The toilet was in a separate room. In the morning we have a nice mountain view from the window of our room. The breakfast was very tasty and we also enjoyed sitting places in front of the hotel to absorb the atmosphere of the Alps mountains. We left the hotel totally satisfied and the price for the accommodation seems to us very adequate. For sure, we plan to return there in the future.

Great buffet breakfast, large room, everything perfectly clean, nice free sauna with a cooling balcony. We really enjoyed our short stay.

Went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Great atmosphere; warm and very friendly. Gr8 breakfast, dinner, bar, ambience and perfect place to be to go to the ski resorts! Would definitely return.

JUFA Hotel Hochkar ligger 250 meter fra skiområdet Hochkar og tilbyder spa-område med sauna og dampbad, restaurant samt skiopbevaringsrum med skistøvletørrer. Location was great, just steps from the ski slopes and lifts. The breakfast was delicious and offered a wide variety of choices.

Hotel Waldesruh ligger i Göstling an der Ybbs, 39 km fra Sonntagberg-basilikaen, og tilbyder indkvartering med restaurant, gratis privat parkering og bar. The owner is nice. Sauna is a great plus to finish a sporty day. The food was good (diner and breakfast). The room was big and spacious.

We loved the place, the view from our balcony was just great - grasslands, forest, mountains as far as eye can see. Nice hosts. Simple, but quite tasty breakfast (payed extra). If you are staying there in the summer, definitely try swimming in the river in Göstling. (Free, a beach next to Ybbstaler Solebad. BWT, the payed place in Hollenstein is also amazing.) Perfect after a hike in the mountains.
