The Friar and Helena, as well as their nephew Felipe, were happy to help arrange tours for us as well as our boat back to Leticia (can be a bit complicated). The property itself is gorgeous, teeming with wildlife and pleasant views. There are resident monkeys, cats, parrots, dogs, and an owl that will all seek your attention lovingly. The location is just remote enough to offer accessibility to Puerto Nariño while still feeling separated from the outside world. The hosts truly care about their environment and animals and treat each guest as a close friend. I highly recommend having Felix take you on a nighttime jungle walk in search of wildlife, and if you’re up for a more remote hike, take the westward trail about 2.5km to the small community of San Francisco.
