Just off the main road so easy walking distance to shops, cafes and take aways. I get the impression that Taihape is a place where people rest overnight on long journeys rather than an end destination for a holiday. When I travel around NZ motel owners tend to say, "Have a good holiday" whereas here he said, "Have a good rest"!!
