Nestled amongst peaceful native bushland, Kaka Retreat Motel, Stewart Island offers spacious modern suites with kitchenette, flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. Free transfers to and from the airport and ferry terminal are available.

There was a separate room for the bed. I also liked that they provided plates and cups.

With panoramic views of the Tasman Sea, The Bay Motel overlooks Halfmoon Bay on Stewart Island. It features a nearby golf course, a free shuttle service and free private parking on site.

The Bay Motel is a 5-minutes’ walk from shops and restaurants; its location allows many hiking and trekking possibilities in the native forests of Rakiura National Park.

Spacious comfortable and clean rooms, the property is in a great location surrounded by nature but very close to the town. The hosts were so friendly helpful and attentive made our stay much better just with their great service.

Stewart Island's iconic South Sea Hotel is located on the foreshore, in the centre of town. It is 2 minutes’ walk from the ferry and airline terminals.

The self-contained studio units are adjacent to the main hotel building. The older-style accommodation upstairs in the main hotel offers shared facilities including a communal guest lounge overlooking the harbor, which offers tea and coffee making facilities.

Location great Meal fantastic and room ok just wish there was kettle and a fridge to keep things cool but overall great.

Excellent service. The motel van was waiting for us when we arrived in the airport shuttle. They took us back when we checked out and showed us where to store our bags so we were free to explore the island until our flight left. The staff were friendly and helpful and the motel is an easy walk to town and has stunning views.

We were collected as arranged and our luggage stored until the room was ready, we did arrive at 10.30am so expected the room to be unavailable immediatley. The staff were amazing and offered some guidence for us to be able to book the things we wanted to do. We loved being able to open the balcony doors and enjoy the bird life in the plantings that surrounded the motel. They offered us transport back to the flight hub, we did choose to to walk but the offer was appreciated. I recommend this motel.

The room was great, the bed was comfortable. The views of the harbour from the balcony were lovely. We were greeted by host when we arrived and they took us and our luggage to our meeting point for Ulva island taxi. They took our luggage to the motel. I would recommend the bus tour of the island too.

Unit was well equiped, Bathroom was spacious clean and fittings were in fantastic/new condition. Handy to town up a rather steep hill but still easy 5/10 min walk to the pub & shops. Sunny covered deck. The unit is surrounded by tress so lots of cheerful birds singing. They met us at the Ferry and took our bags to motel and dropped us off again on our departure.
