The decor was superb in the "Running Hare" room.Very cute but subtle rabbit/hare images in textiles (and the cutest rabbit egg cups!). Very luxurious but also relaxed style. Smeg fridge for a pop of colour. Cosy bed and reading nook with abundance of cushions and beautiful finishes.
The property, decor, textiles all relaxed luxury - just beautiful. Wonderful views and an outstanding breakfast. Hosts were attentive but not overbearing. Just a wonderful visit, wish we could have stayed a whole week including a whole day in those delicious beds and clawfoot baths!
Stag Lodge is an excellent short stay destination if you’re in this area or as a stopover on the way to Isle of Skye. Very easy to find, easy parking and then just a beautiful residence to stay at. Breakfast was superb and the property has all the little innovations to keep you happy. Five stars!
The hotel is set in a superb location overlooking a group of small islands (to which boat trips are available at a jetty not far from the hotel). It is also well-positioned for moderate walks and climbs up some of the neighbouring mountains. The room was very comfortable and meals (I ate breakfast and dinner) were superb, washed down with a pint or two or real ale from Orkney. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and there was a bar serving excellent bar food adjacent to the hotel. A fabulous experience. Five stars!
Fabulous chef, all food was five star Refurbishment excellent Location fabulous
Absolutely beautiful B&B more like a boutique hotel to be honest. The room was gorgeous, no expense spared in the quality of the decor and fixtures and fittings. The view of the loch from our room was amazing and the chairs and table in the bay window were marvellous, we sat all night just looking at the loch. Carl and Carla were very welcoming and great hosts. The food was outstanding, definitely have an evening meal as Carl is a brilliant chef.
The location was superb and breath taking, along with the cleanliness and attention to detail of the room we were in, which had a amazing jacuzzi bath in the adjoining room. The view you see in the photos is exactly what you see from relaxing in the jacuzzi ( outstanding ) a lovely and welcoming gesture of a bottle of bubbly waiting in the room was a very nice touch, thank you. we came back of a evening and chilled out in this wonderful set-up and wished we could of stopped longer. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A simply wonderful family-run small hotel. Spacious and comfortable rooms, very comfortable bed, lovely big bathroom, everything spotlessly clean. Outstanding food - the chef is a dream. Fresh produce from the garden cooked with creative perfection. Murdo was a wonderful host - very friendly and helpful with great tips on how to have the best time in Portree. Highly recommended!
The breakfast service was a little slow as all the guests arrived at the same time for breakfast one morning only (not their fault) but the breakfast was very good, all tastes are catered for. Dinner in the evenings was superb. They have a great chef. The location is outstanding and the view from our room to the loch was lovely as was the view from the lounges and dining room.
