The owner Jorge, and his son Daniel were very friendly and helpful. Jorge spoke very good english, and his son Daniel spoke perfect english. We expressed an interest in food to them, and they made some great suggestions, and even did something more personal for us. The house was very large, but also very clean, which is somewhat rare for a large rental house. The materials used in the recent refurbishment were high quality, and didn't feel "cheap". There was excellent water pressure in the showers, and plenty of hot water for showers. The internet is fiber, and I got approximately 100mbps, with 6ms latency. The daily fresh bread delivery was perfect for us. The house is about 10 minutes from the main city of Braganca, but it is an easy drive, and we didn't miss being IN the city.

If you are looking to be in peace in the middle of nowhere, you are in the right place. It is quiet, natural and in the heart of Douro Region. Near the RotaN2 and nice to get Vila Real or Peso da Régua, if you have car. We strongly recommend.

It's in a little rural village that is almost like a travel back in time, in a good way. The host has a comprehensive file with useful information about the region, which helped us to make the most of our stay. Just around the corner, a 15 minutes walk, there's Piocas de Cima for a refreshing dip with a stunning view.
