Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre and the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Mount Cook National Park are within 50 minutes' drive. Mel prepared us a wonderful breakfast, probably the best in our five weeks of travel. There were choices to suit what we felt like and the scrambled eggs were perfect. I loved the cereal choices and the great coffees. We also appreciated the fruit cake and cookies and other treats that were generously provided. The room was very comfortable with quality bedding and furniture and a beautiful bathroom and great views of the mountains. Mel’s care and warmth were very much appreciated, and her restaurant recommendations were great!

Accommodations options include three 1 or 2 bedroom luxury villas with each with a hot tub, fireplace and drawing room. Each of the heated suites offers high wooden ceilings, sandstone floors and an elegant ensuite bathroom. The villa was much nicer than I anticipated, with its own private hot tub (maybe I missed it on the booking page, but I was pleasantly surprised). The grounds are very beautiful and you can take a walk through the woods to get to a view point for the lake.

Situated in Mount Cook National Park and offering beautiful mountain views, Aoraki Mount Cook Alpine Lodge is a 5-minute walk from Sir Edmund Hillary Alpine Centre. It offers guests 5GB of free WiFi per device, per day, a self-catering kitchen and BBQ facilities. The entire place is extremely clean and love the cosy feel for the winter. Very beautiful view of the snowy mountains and if you’re lucky, to witness an avalanche happening.

The nearest airport is Richard Pearse Airport, 95 km from the lodge. Great location across the street from Lake Tecapo. 15 minutes to the top of mountain observatory. Walking distance to Lake to be able to see dark sky, although garden area was also full of stars.

Location and view were great, very clean and modern, check-in communications and instructions were very clear

Three Rivers Lodge is located off the southern banks of Lake Tekapo, in the shadow of New Zealand’s picturesque Southern Alps. Floor-to-ceiling windows provide views of the lake and surrounding mountains. The room was spacious and even though it has no kitchen plates and cutlery were provided. The view from the room was great.
