Sri Dalada Maligawa is 29 km from the lodge, while Kandy Museum is 29 km away. I don't know where to begin.. I came here for 1 night to hike, stayed 3 nights and didn't do a single hike. It was too good to stay with Nero's family, volunteer there and at the pre school, share meals, meditate, go for walks, play with the kids... I have never felt more at home in Sri Lanka than here. If you go there, take your time, help around, enjoy real kindness and sharing. I can't thank you enough for my time at your place ❤️ This is a safe place to stay as a solo female traveler!

Incredibly kind family owners-I arrived super early having cycled there, they served me a delicious breakfast and got my room ready ASAP. Location is fab-you can enter Sigiriya rock via a back entrance (but it might be worth getting your entry ticket on your way to hotel as its a bit of a walk to the ticket office (inside the museum) once you are at the hotel. Easy walk into town/ restaurants. Room is basic but super clean,mini fridge, kettle provided and outdoor seating. All set in lovely garden.

Guests at the lodge can enjoy an Asian breakfast. The Homestay experience was really good, the hosts were very helpful, friendly and responsive. The room itself was spacious and clean, the surroundings are beautiful with a nice view of the rock and paddy fields all over , and a nice lake a couple of minutes away. The food was absolutely delicious, I had dinner and breakfast, the curries were simply superb , varied and home style. All in all a very good, comfortable and enriching stay
