We were greeted by Icelandic horses, who were "waiting" for us right next to our cabin. My son loved the bunk bed. We couldn't have asked for a better location, halfway between Höfn and Jökulsárlón. Highly recommended!!

Amazing cabin in the middle of nowhere. Very spacious,, charming, family friendly and clean. You could see the northern lights from the inside as it has many windows, yet it is private. It has two bathrooms, one with a tub and one with a shower. The main room has a loft with a large bed. You can easily have 6-7 people sleep here. It has a big and new jacuzzi that were weren't able to use because of our schedule. The house can be tricky to find with Google maps. Just get familiar with how it looks like on the outside, it was no trouble for us. Grocery store and gas station are 30 minutes away. So plan in advance and buy what you need before arrival. Very few restaurants in the area as well. Still very charming. 15 minutes away from 3 of most popular waterfalls in the south.

There was a small waterfall behind the cottage, so when we opened the window a little, we could hear that relaxing sound. The heating was excellent and the bed very comfortable. We were lucky to see the white landscape, covered with a lot of snow and the next day it had already melted so we could see the green of the mountains and meadows, a completely different landscape. It was wonderful to see the starry sky from the comfort of the small living room of the cottage thanks to its large windows. We would definitely stay here again even though it can be a bit expensive.
