Situated in the countryside of County Kildare The Lodges at Kilkea Castle is set in 180 acres of its own woodland and gardens. A 12th-century castle, Kilkea Castle is one of the oldest inhabited castles in Ireland with a history dating back to 1180. Designated parking is available. I booked this as a gift for my parents wedding anniversary. Initially I booked them into the Lodges but I contacted Kilkea Castle direct the morning of their check-in and enquired if there were any cancellations for the Castle. Thankfully there was a cancellation for the Castle - I was delighted. I paid the extra money. My parents loved their stay and the dinner on 1180 was exceptional. Breakfast the next morning also. I can’t wait to book Kilkea now for my husband and I.

We stayed in the lodges which surprisingly were very spacious with private bathrooms in each bedroom and a spacious living room. There is rose gardens and a stream near the castle and lovely walks around the premises. We attended the spa for treatments and they were excellent and staff were very accommodating. Food was tasty and good service.

lovely secluded area with beautiful castle and lodges decor was lovely felt homely and remote so peaceful for all. staff were amazing , lovely and polite and helpful when needed! amazing spa!

Staff were all very welcoming and friendly. We had a lovely room in one of the lodges , with a spacious living/dining room with kitchenette, really quiet and very comfortable. Great breakfast and dinner at the club house with beautiful views of the castle. Lovely walks and surrounds..

Absolutely everything we will defo be returning. The lodges were spotless clean. The grounds are amazing to stroll around and the castle itself is magnificent order a drink in the keepbar and chill by the fire.
