The lodge is located in the beautiful mountains of Copey. The road leading to this lovely place of natural beauty is very good. We were greeted by Diego who was most helpful and kind.The delicious breakfast is a typical Costa Rican one, which you enjoy while watching all the humming birds at their feeders! Dinner was also very good and prices were reasonable. The uphill climb on their trail is worth it, especially if you can make it to their Cypress Forest!

Trogon Lodge is located 1.5 km from San Gerardo de Dota town centre and 9 km from Los Quetzales National Park. It features an extensive garden, a terrace and BBQ facilities. Norem, Esteban and Valeria made us feel at home right away and went out of their way to accommodate us. Breakfast and dinner (with the hummingbirds around) were delicious, prepared to the point and with several dishes to choose from. The cabins are all new, very well designed and furnished, the bathroom with steady and immediate hot and cold water supply. A garden with a small trail are in the making and will make spending time in the crisp and clean mountain air even more worthwhile. We can highly recommend Curuba Lodge which became our favorite place in Costa Rica! Tip: Esteban can connect you with a few guides to see the rare and iconic Quetzal birds.

A real 10*, Yuri and Esteban are wonderful friendly hosts, the river deck is fantastic, breakfasts and dinners were all special, real fine dining :) ! The garden, the birds, the tranquility, the atmosphere just makes you relax perfectly! To all wonderful places the road is hard, but all was worth it! (4wd is advisable 😉)

Boasting a garden and a bar, Cascada Elysiana is located 5 km down the road from Platanillo. International and local dishes are served at the in-house restaurant. Calm place to relax and turn off from the daily rush is perfect. Between the houses are big space, so you can have your privacy!!!!

Staff were wonderful. Going back for another stay on our way back to San Jose.
