Located 16 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester and 26 km from Ujarras Ruins, Escapadita al Bosque provides accommodation in San Isidro. The location, the equipment, the care given to set practical things and to make the trails/sanderos very clear and easy. I definitely recommand it to people wanting to be inspired by nature.

With mountain views, Pacuare Mountain Lodge is situated in Tres Equis and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden, year-round outdoor pool and terrace. A perfect stop over between Pura Vida Ecolodge and Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean side. We were met with open arms and warm smiles and were incredibly well looked after throughout our short stay. It genuinely felt like we were at home... Incredibly friendly and helpful staff and a really beautiful set up, stunning views, wonderfully kept gardens and basic but comfortable cabins. They even managed to make some tweaks in the kitchen in order to offer us a super tasty vegan evening meal and very yummy breakfast. Gracias Antonio y amigos, we'll be back and for longer next time - seems like there is SO much to explore in the area!

Offering free WiFi and an outdoor pool, Corredores del Pacuare is situated on Pacayitas, from La Suiza district (Taxi station) 11km North, at this point you will find the San Vicente intersection from... Very good experience. The hotel is somewhat remote (9km drive on unpaved road). Gilberth (the owner) is a very nice person. He really helped me when I got stuck driving a small FWD car, and prepared a very good breakfast. Highly recommended place to stay, but I would recommend driving a 4x4 in that area.

Featuring mountain views, Posada Cañaveral in Ujarrás features accommodation, a garden, a shared lounge, a terrace, a restaurant and a bar. Nice secluded place, we were only day here. If we had known what possible was is the area (visit Irazu Vulcan?) We would have booked more nights.

Featuring mountain views, Villas Valle Bello in Ujarrás features accommodation, a garden, a shared lounge and a terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. A huge and very comfortable bed, large bathroom, lovely owners and breathtaking views. Very highly recommended, we wish we could have stayed longer.

Paraíso Quetzal Lodge features extensive gardens, wooden bungalows and a terrace with views of the cloud forest. It is located just 3 km from Los Quetzales National Park. Amazing location high up in mountains (2700 m above sea level), beautiful site in real good condition and great staff. Hummingbird garden was full of these birds, tens buzzing around. Knowledgable guides found quetzal birds easily.

Set in Cartago, 30 km from Ujarras Ruins and 37 km from Jardin Botanico Lankester, Casitas Eco Bambú offers accommodation with free WiFi and a garden with a terrace and garden views. The owner, Mili, was very helpful in all aspects of our stay, including the booking process, and offering recommendations for restaurants, transportation, and other activities before and after we arrived. The restaurant recommendations were unnecessary, as the food onsite was delicious. The hiking trails nearby were excellent. The hotel also offers bicycling, rafting, and horseback riding. Before we arrived and when we left, Mili was quietly standing by to coordinate any potential difficulties with logistics.

Cabañas Don Tito features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Pejibaye, 30 km from Ujarras Ruins. Beautiful location. Very private. Awesome hiking and waterfall in close proximity. Owner was very helpful💗

With mountain views, Hotel Wagelia Espino Blanco is located in Turrialba and has a restaurant, a tour desk, bar, garden and terrace. The lodge features both WiFi and private parking free of charge. We arrived at dusk and it rained all night. Staying here offers an amazing opportunity to be completely off grid, in a cabin, in the jungle. Walter was a great host. Remember this is Costa Rica, don’t expect hot water! or in this case electricity in the cabin. Walter gave us lanterns and we had a mindful quite night away from everything.
