Especially sunrise is breathtaking. The stay itself is a unique experience. Staff are very well trained and very attentive to guests, they all have shown us true East African natural hospitality.

It is this that is the principal reason to choose this Hotel. Everything else was OK but not spectacular. In our case we were particularly disorganised about all our park permits as we self organised the trip, not using a safari company, and a flight delay took our park entry past 6 PM. It was all sorted with help from the hotel but then we were fortunate to have got the mobile phone number of a particularly helpful manager; this turned a potentially disasterous trip into a great one!NickYoung couple

The heating system works well and is needed at nights. The bar and restaurant have similarly great views and is lovely to chill out and relax. The Wi-Fi works well and reasonably fast. The lodge is close to the descending and ascending roads to the crater- both of which are paved and don’t present too much of a driving challenge The staff are all very helpful. If self driving, it is useful to know the lodge does have repair work shop where basic repairs can be done.
