Tan-Swiss Lodge 3 stars
Mikumi
The Tan-Swiss Lodge is 2 km from the Mikumi National Park boundary and 17 km from the main entrance gate of the Park. The accommodation is 60 km from the Udzungwa Mountain National Park where guests can enjoy safaris as organized by the lodge.

Booked two nights at Tan-Swiss for my daughter and me for a one day safari in Mikumi. We chose Tan-Swiss because they had a pool. The staff organized free pick up from our bus stop and gave us a very warm welcome. Tan-Swiss offered comfortable rooms, delicious food and a good breakfast, even though there were too few guests to have the regular breakfast buffet. The staff were very friendly and helpful, helped to watch my child while she swam and organized the return journey with a reliable bus company. They also helped us to organize a single day safari with an experienced guide. Tan-Swiss is an excellent choice for anyone traveling to mikumi.

Tausi's little paradise is the perfect location to visit Mikumi National park or other destinations in the region. Tausi herself is a real treasure. So helpful, knows everyone and helps you with organizing everything you want. She also helped us a lot to arrange the rest of our trip. Voyage Village is little bungalows in really calm grounds basically in the bush, where sometimes you can spot wild animals (e.g. baboons, zebra). I could imagine the place being perfect for honeymoon too. A big plus also is the food. They cook everything freshly, and customize everything according to your wishes (for example vegetarian / vegan). Also it's not only rice and beans but an amazing variety of fresh food. Moreover the staff is really nice and friendly. Would definitely go there again without thinking twice!!

Far away to not be bothered by the nightlife ij town, bit close enough to visit the town as well ( take a bajaji for 2000 tsh). The food and facilities were excellent but most of all Gabriel & his staff bent over backwards to help us! We had a flat tyre which they sorted out when local mechanics couldn’t! Sophia our guide on safari worked for the hotel and was brilliant. She also took us on a great tour of Mikumi and the local Massi village!

On the first evening of our arrival restaurant staff looked tired and unhappy. Food was ok. There are mosquito nets over the beds and beds are comfortable. In room 7 there was no hot water and the TV remote control was broken. In room 8 there was hot water in the shower. Water in the pool was too cold.
