The house is beautiful, fully equipped and really cosy. It's in a little rural village that is almost like a travel back in time, in a good way. The host has a comprehensive file with useful information about the region, which helped us to make the most of our stay. Just around the corner, a 15 minutes walk, there's Piocas de Cima for a refreshing dip with a stunning view.

What a view! We got a balcony room overlooking the mountain and towns below, as well as the pool and cute bar area downstairs. The room itself is quite small, but the bed was great and we really stayed here to be near the scenic area and Fisgas de Ermelo, the truly epic waterfall within a 20 minute drive of the property through the beautiful mountain area. The host was great, friendly to talk to and gave us some great tips (plus a quite good affordable bottle of wine for the evening). Make sure to bring dinner with you or stop before you come for the evening as there is nothing in the immediate area. Breakfast was quite good too. There is also a pool and hot tub, although it was too cold for us to use those (even in July). Overall, if you're driving through the area, it's worth a stop!
