Fabulous family run property. The staff was very friendly and the lodge was amazing. The rooms were nice and offered enough space together with the living room that could be used at any time. Free tea and fresh water available at any time. The private onsen was great, especially after coming back after a cold day sight seeing. The free bread breakfast was delicious. The stay was the highlight of our trip!

The staff was friendly, and the lodge was amazing !!! It's a good place to chill and relax (it's also ok to eat there!). The room is old-style (e.g. no Washlet) but well-kept and clean. I'm glad they have a private onsen which is rare! and they kept it nice and clean (but remember to bring the hairdryer from the room...). The free bread breakfast is delicious, way beyond our expectations!

    - Comfortable & heated mattress for cold winter! - Rustic style of the building and the living room, the authentic looking bath. - The remote location in the middle of nature / mountain, beautiful under the snow. I saw some deer on my way back from the nearby Onsen! - Reactivity and empathy of the owner who offered to relocate me closer to the other Park Lodge next to the station due to the heavy snow.

Yoshi and his wife were the perfect hosts in every way. This was our favourite lodging in Japan. Nikko is a place where wished we'd stayed for a few more days and Sanga Nikko was a charming and welcoming small hotel. with only four or five rooms, and a shared kitchen/lounge area. Interesting conversations with fellow travellers guaranteed.

Very convenient location to walk to the shrine. It took us 35 min through a scenic road. A small taxi brought us to the lodge when we arrived with our luggage and we paid 1000 yen

The private onsen is a plus and friendly host who share us valuable information on how to explore Nikko which saved us plenty of time on googling for places of attractions. The rooms are comfortable, clean and beautiful. Recommended lodging for those who wants to stay in Nikko.

A quaint, charming mountain lodge run by a wonderful staff that’s dedicated, professional and welcoming. Cozy loungewear provided, onsen on the second floor. Food prep, presentation and service is exceptional. The hotel is in need of updating but that is part of its charm. Located directly across from lake with rental boats and a tour boat that runs regularly and stops a few places where passengers can follow walking paths to waterfalls. Busses run from Nikko town center making it easily accessible and well worth an overnight stay.

Nikko Park Lodge Mountain Side is located in a quiet spot, about half an hour away from the temples and shrines. There is even a little onsen close by (about five minutes on foot). I really enjoyed the possiblity to get not only breakfast but also dinner. After a long day of sightseeing, it is great to be able to get dinner without having to venture in search of a restaurant. There is a reasonable selection of dishes as well, and breakfast and dinner are great times to have a chat with the other guests.
