Set among Nikko’s peaceful forests and mountains, Nikko Park Lodge Mountain Side offers homely accommodation with free Wi-Fi just steps from hiking trails. It is 10 minutes from Tobu Nikko Station on the free shuttle (available 15:00-17:00).

Nikko along with this hostel are one of those places where you can easily spend a week or more if you want to get away from the city. Location is great, a bit distanced from the village but closer to the forest. Great for those who like to walk. On top of that it is very comfortable, the hosts are splendid people, and the whole atmosphere of the house is cozy and welcoming. I highly recommend it.

The lodge is in a nice quiet wooded location. It gives you a kind of a camping outdoors feeling. The common room is great with comfy sofas and plenty tables. Staff is also very friendly and can speak Japanese and English very well . ....and definitely order the chicken Adobo when it's available. ♥️

The staff was friendly, and the lodge was amazing !!! It's a good place to chill and relax (it's also ok to eat there!). The room is old-style (e.g. no Washlet) but well-kept and clean. I'm glad they have a private onsen which is rare! and they kept it nice and clean (but remember to bring the hairdryer from the room...). The free bread breakfast is delicious, way beyond our expectations!

    - Comfortable & heated mattress for cold winter! - Rustic style of the building and the living room, the authentic looking bath. - The remote location in the middle of nature / mountain, beautiful under the snow. I saw some deer on my way back from the nearby Onsen! - Reactivity and empathy of the owner who offered to relocate me closer to the other Park Lodge next to the station due to the heavy snow.

Yoshi and his wife were the perfect hosts in every way. This was our favourite lodging in Japan. Nikko is a place where wished we'd stayed for a few more days and Sanga Nikko was a charming and welcoming small hotel. with only four or five rooms, and a shared kitchen/lounge area. Interesting conversations with fellow travellers guaranteed.

Very convenient location to walk to the shrine. It took us 35 min through a scenic road. A small taxi brought us to the lodge when we arrived with our luggage and we paid 1000 yen

Nikko Park Lodge Mountain Side is located in a quiet spot, about half an hour away from the temples and shrines. There is even a little onsen close by (about five minutes on foot). I really enjoyed the possiblity to get not only breakfast but also dinner. After a long day of sightseeing, it is great to be able to get dinner without having to venture in search of a restaurant. There is a reasonable selection of dishes as well, and breakfast and dinner are great times to have a chat with the other guests.

Nice scenic 10mins walk from Tobu-Nikko station. Sato san is very responsive and sent us by car after we had a walk in town. Lodging is designed and constructed with wood-nice wooden table with 2 chairs which took up the space. Heater in room helps with the cold. Appreciate the heated toilet.

The owners were so kind and treated us like family rather than guests. The lodge is a little out of the way for those without a car, but we were offered lifts on multiple occasions. The food was delicious; flexible, fresh and plentiful! The room was basic, but very comfortable. Being in the middle of nature, it is so peaceful. The bookable private onsen is a lovely extra luxury! Would not hesitate for a moment to book this again.
