We had a great stay. Lovely house and environment, friendly staff and owners, peaceful but a short walk away from the small village. Fast and reliable wifi. We witnessed the installation of a brand new solar energy system, so electricity should be very reliable going forward.

I loved my time here so much and can’t wait to be back. The kindness I experienced is something I’ll always remember. And if you are lucky, you’ll get to taste Oliver’s amazing pasta (please don’t pass up on the opportunity). The compound is one of the most places i’ve ever stayed. Just having breakfast while listening to the birds was the stuff of dreams. Okay stop reading and book this place right away.

The staff make the place so welcoming, and it's at the end of the beach furthest from the horrible fish factory so there's less smell. This is a really peaceful place with a good vibe, we're just sad to only have one night there before flying!

Maria and Greg are very warm hosts who make sure that you feel absolutly welcome and safe at their cosy lodge. Family atmosphere with great food, cooked by Maria and her staff. Beautiful huts with cosy beds. A great place to relax and unwind and experience Gambia from a more local view.

I Love waking waking up in this serene environment with a huge variety of birds singing songs. Footsteps is very well managed and maintained, the staff is super friendly, well trained and helpful. The rooms are spacious, clean and the bed is comfortable. The environment is stunning and the lush gardens are extensive featuring a bird hide and a yogashala with yoga mats provided. The organic gardens provide fresh produce, and the kitchen serves both delicious local dishes and a high standard of international dishes, all presented lovingly with a big smile which nurtures a feeling of being completely taken care off. I have been coming to the Gambia for 13 years staying in various accommodations. While some are good when they first open, many fall apart quickly due to poor management. Not so at footsteps. Footsteps has provided me with consistently fabulous holidays over many years. A big thank you to the entire team.
