great location in middle of nature; very clean cabins in a beautiful garden with ponds in front; lots of birds and frogs on daily display. Victor, the host is very helpful and friendly, his wife cooks very good dinners upon request so you don't have to look for restaurants in the evening. Victor is even building a small swimming pool to even improve the premises. Upon Victors suggestion we visited Canu Negra, a beautiful nature resort with lagune with an incredible amount of birds and gators. Also close to the Volcano with its fantastic waterfall

We loved La Finca Amistad Cacao Lodge. Nicely located closed to Tenorio park. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful and the lunch, dinner and breakfast were delicious. This is the best part of our trip with the cacao tour, chocolate making and jacuzzi time! We highly recommend to stay at least 2 nights!!

Tierras Altas is a much better place to stay than Heliconias Lodge! And if you pay an entrance ticket of USD 14 per person, you can access the trails of Heliconias. The two lodges are only 300 meters apart!

The lodge has a beautiful 2.5 mile hiking trail across the street. Our room was very clean as was the entire lodge. The lunch and dinner offerings were very good and it was a great opportunity for us to meet other guests. The views from the lodge were incredible as were the view of the beautiful gardens in front of the lodge. The coffee was amazing! The owner, Joel, was very nice to chat with and was very welcoming.
