You have to have a fishing license in AL, about $40 & online (not in FL, about 10-15 minutes away), beware of swimmers getting close to the pier while you are fishing (or do not swim close to the pier because of fishing hooks) but great wings at the pier's food/drink bar! Beautiful view!

Love the pier but $3.00 just to walk on it for 5 min is crazy. Husband love to fish at the pier and gladly pays the $9.00. Nice view of the ocean and city. If water isn’t rough , we’ve seen sea turtles, jellyfish, and sharks. Like that there is a bar and food available. It can be smelly, cause people do fish and fillet the fish they caught right there. People very helpful when fishing.

There was not enough to see for the price ( a dollar would have been more accurate) and the fishing and fishing stations smelled bad. They need to be separated so people could have more space to view the ocean and people fishing and cleaning fish could have their space.
