The statue is impressive, even more so if you are religious...
The statue is impressive, even more so if you are religious as there are lots of interesting things about it dotted around. For us, the most impressive thing was the view of the bridge, the river, and Lisbon. If you come over from the the city of Lisbon, take the ferry to Almada then hop on the tram (there's a choice of 2) and get off at Almada. The route to the statue is signposted and only takes about 10 minutes, even though it's quite a steep hill. When coming back, just walk downwards, coming in left from the tram's route, and you'll go through the old town to get to the port.

The location in Almada was a bit difficult to find, but a good starting point for the "Elevator" from which you can see both the Cristo Rei statue, as well as the bridge and Lisbon. Only 5 minutes walk away. Just around the corner are cafes, pharmacy, small supermarkets.

You will sleep in a beautiful, clean room with a private bathroom and in complete silence. Just an 8min boat to the old town for € 1.35 across the Tejo River - it's an experience! A short walk from the Cristo Rei statue and fantastic fish restaurants. Anthony will offer you the opportunity to have a rich breakfast for 2-3 €, you can choose from 7 types. In the room you will find detailed tips for trips. You won't find relaxation like Anthony's anywhere!
